I wonder what sort of top speed anyone has seen out of the 100Hp ?

That is assuming they are travelling in Germany on the autobahn.

Not in the Uk (Of course)

And how does it feel in general.. As I am bit worried about the general
feel and directional stability of mine when going over 100 Mph.. On the
German autobahn (Of course)

Jake the rapid old fart. (In Germany of course)

Indicated 115 ( prob 105-110mph ) down hill on autobarn.......;-)

I took my brand new 100hp on the autobahn last month to find out. With two people in the front and luggage in the back, which does make a difference, as the back of the car feels better with the extra weight.

Sustained cruising speed (when not even minding the speedo): 150/160 kilometers per hour. That is the speed the car wants to go at, unless you floor it. You can drive at that speed indefinitely, and the car handles very well.

It is surprisingly easy to accelerate from 160 to 180 on flat or even a bit up hill. No problem holding it at 180, it still feels very stable, and seems like the car pushes down on to the road and you have plenty of grip.

180 to 190, it takes a bit longer, but it can be done on a flat. At 190 the car starts to get a bit shaky, and you wonder if you really should be doing that.

190+ the limiter (aka wife) intervened. Otherwise, it felt like there was still enough power and revs available to get to 200-210 eventually. But the car would probably be very unstable at that speed.

Keeping it safe, I would say the top speed is 180 kph

Hi I had mine at 180km per hour (company car) does feel lose at that speed especially if there is some wind around and when the road is in the condition they are here.

It does great hand break turns.

Satnav says 168km/h (105mph), was indicating 180+ at the time - the speedo overreads an awful lot!

Was on the flat on a dead quiet empty section of motorway (we've lots of those) at 6am on a bank holiday saturday morning and I didn't see another car for a good 15km or so. Our limit is 120, but the cops basically work 8 to 8 in the dry and warm only!

mine will sit at 120mph ok down a hill i managed 130mph but part from doing it as a one off to see what it does no point as takes a age to get there, the car is very smooth and stable cruising at 85-90 as 85-90 is at 4000rpm with an instant mpg of 36.

Some good point on A47 for down hill Setions from trouse intersection to Showground turn off. Ecpecially the slip down from the N+N junction :)

120 mph indicated on the autobahn. Don't think it had much more to give and there wasn't the space to really push it in safety.

It's academic though, I did 120 for about 3 seconds then slowed down to a less stressful speed.

Your car is very new though...
The engine may still be quite 'tight' ;)

Its either you being brave/fearless, or me being an old fart and a bit
more cautious, but am just not really happy with the directional stability
of the 100Hp in the upper reaches of 3 digit progression..

I dont know if its the fact that the car is on a short wheelbase, or the
electric steering and the fact that the car is a bit on the tall side.

Am finding it a bit stressful when pressing on, am having to grip the
steering wheel and really concentrating on keeping it going in a straight
line, it tends to weave from side to side, not a lot I will admit, but just enough to cause stress, which at lower speeds does not cause a problem.

In fact the car really is a great laugh, more so on the B roads which I am using more and more now.

Every car I have had is a new learning experience and all handle differently. Some are easy to cope with, and some are more demanding. At the end of the day its not quite as bad as my 1959 1300 Volkswagen beetle in a side wind. Will keep plodding away, might even add that bag of cement to the
boot... Cant but help to think that the damping springing set up is not as good as it could/should be. But thats another story.

really i find mine is totally stable at that speed shur you haven't hit one to many curbs and knocked your wheels out lol :slayer:

With GSR Induction kit and some other minor mods the GPS reads 119 MPH, Speedo reading was well over 125MPH on Private Road!

Its not so much the top end that is important as where can we do this safely these days with the war on speeding? If you ask me the GSR makes 2nd feel far more accessible from lower down the rev range and naturally helps get a very legal 60 (in parts) faster!

Cheers

Did an indicated 122mph on the autobahn in July (on way to the ring from the south) and is felt quite stable, its just that it was screaming a bit, i would not like to sustain a long period flat out. My wife was unimpressed!

autobahn, private road... why are the so few people willing to admit caning it on public roads? You've some nice, empty, straight flat bits of motorway network just like here...
