Is there a way to remove remove the front fiat badge without having to take the whole bumper off?

Can see its held on by a screw at the back of the bade, but the bonnet catch is in the way of getting a screwdriver at it. Tried removing the 4 bolts running along the top of the bumper, but it didn't give much more room to work with. Given the scarcity of these bumpers I didn't fancy brute force on it.

Anyone else had a go at this?

I've definitely done it on a 100hp once in the past to get round a broken bonnet release cable, but I can't remember how I did it.
That car hadn't had the bumper removed in years and the bumper bolts and clips were solid iron oxide lumps.
Removing (usually by drilling out) the front bumper bolts & spire clips and replacing them with new ones is usually one of the first jobs i do on any Panda I intend to keep for any length of time
I think its an 7mm or 8mm nut, and I do have a selection of 1/4" flexi-drive attachments - I must have gone in from the top as there is a plate on the 100hp which gets in the way otherwise.
Sorry I can't help more, and good luck.

PS if you decide to drill out the bumper bolts, my secret is a split point cobalt 6mm drill bit, as slow as possible, not too much pressure, and cutting lubricant applied regularly. And its still a rotten job.

If someone has an old badge

I reckon you could attack it from the front and double sided tape the new one back in place

All depends how much is embedded behind the screw

Later fiat badges look to have a standard nutsert

Which should come out easily

Our badge is an unknown

I suspect there not much holding the stud in place

But I don't have a spare to destroy

It can just about be done with the bumper on, if you have slim wrists and a small wrench. If I recall I took those two bolts off either side of the bonnet latch so there was a bit more play in the bumper, as it will flex enough at the front to just about get your hand to the badge. Got the old badge off with a small socket wrench and universal joint (barely at the proper angle), just about managed to grab the old badge and bolt and pry them out, and just about managed to get the bolt onto the new one. It was very touch-and-go though, hardly any room to work with. But of course a lot quicker than taking the bloody bumper off!

100HP bumpers are incredibly fragile and expensive enough to write off the car. I strongly recommend you take off the 100HP bumper and fit a standard Panda bumper. It wont quite have the looks, but carful paint helps. Keep the original bumper safe for when you sell the car.

Just managed to get mine done today without taking the bumper off. I pried the top of the bumper up slightly and wedged it open with a couple of microfibre cloths, which gave me just enough space to get my left hand in. From there I could pass myself a small socket wrench (8 I think) and carefully manoeuvre it onto the nut. It was very fiddly, but I managed to work the handle round bit by bit and the badge came off in the end.

I’d agree that removing the bumper is probably the smarter and more straightforward job. This is an 07 bumper so probably not as flexible as it once was, but if you’ve got slim enough wrists (and a bit of patience when you drop the washer) it can just about be done in situ.
