Seicento 1.4 Uno Turbo'd Seicento Rebuild Thread

Introduction

As a few of you may know, ive bought a nail of a car... I myself knew this, but i wanted to spend some time, money and effort to get it back in a show & stand worthy condition.

It was owned on here by 'wardy25' and as far as i can tell he spent a fortune on her... It was later sold, and then neglected... So far i understand that the car was left off the road for ages, owned by chavs, and thrashed, and thats only when its actually been running...

After it being sold on and on, i ended up snapping up the car...

The car has loads of problems, which i knew prior to me buying her, but she does come with loads of cool stuff...

The interior is full leather, its got powder coated abarth wheels, skirts spoiler, uprated brakes, and the main thing.... a tasty 1.4 uno turbo engine... which i think is the MK2 engine.

The car also comes with panels hanging off, cold start problems, faded paint, wiring faults, and more holes in the exhaust than swiss cheese....

So as a good thread goes.... here are a few pictures of the car in its current condition...

Hopefully in the near future, it wont look anything like it does today...
Heres an update on the turbo beasty....

Ive finished the exhaust, thats now fitted, with new hangers and gaskets etc... Sounds much quieter than the blowing exhaust, which is nice!!

Ive also trimmed the rest of my door panels in the suede, and refitted them all...

I have also fitted the buckets in and gave them a trial sit... pretty tight fit for my behind lol... feel good tho!!

Also sorted some dodgy wiring on the headlights and indicators...

Just the cold start valve, washer bottle, roof lining, bodywork and horn to sort out now :p

Looking good. Got a pic of the exhaust fittted?

ALso, where do you run your main power lead via, and how have you passed it to the starter and alternator?

Gutted mine today, totally bare apart from the front seats lol. Gonna be rewiring over next few days.

The power cable.... hmm haha, pass...

Think it runs down the drivers side of the car inside the bodywork, through a grommet to the starter/alternator..

So why are you re-wiring then?

YEah, I saw it runs down the drivers side, but couldn't see where it came out.

With regards to my rewiring, it has been a mess for a while. I just spen over £100 on wires, fuse holder, relays etc. I am going to be bolting the battery in the boot or behind the front seat, and then the majority of my wiring will be under the passenger seat.

Just fancied a tidy up, though it may look just as messy once i'm done lol.

Lol... Have you still got your big 12v cable knocking around?

joys of megasquirt. once upon a time i thought i had it all perfect... made a whole neat loom and fitted it... a week... no... days later i decided to add something else... and so it now looks like its just been lobbed together :bang:

Curious more than anything here - Was that exhaust on the car when you got it? It looks like a rather odd design, with lots of kinks and then splitting into 2 but keeping the same diameter. Won't that have dodgy effects on the gas flow? Or have I missed something?

The smaller rusty one was on the car when i got it. The one with the 'kink' as you put it, was a hand made one ive had to build from scratch...

Its a larger bore than the exhaust that came off, doesnt blow, and the engine runs a whole lot nicer now...
If you wish to buy me a system, or have a £30k pipe bender to hand then your welcome to have a go for me...

looks like your having fun my man, hard work more like it, glad i saw sense and didnt pursue it more than i did, would of been nice to own again but wow its really gone down hill and got worse from when i owned it, obviously not now your sorting it like

good luck and all that, what you done with the seats????

The seats were removed and sold on, and replaced by suede and cobra buckets...
The car isnt that bad anymore, just requires a yellow bonnet, and some new indicators on the wings lol...

Looking good :D you manage to sell yer red top yet?
My mate sei is smashed up at the front so there's nothing usable there. Sorry :(

aye ive noticed on interior now, one of the best mods ive ever done lol

shame it got aload of crap put on it, oe ftw and all that

Someone had mashed speakers into the leather, looked like a poo effort... Then there were guages, but they were in such strange places on the car, so ive enged up removing it all and refitting them where i can see them.

The interior was nice, but it was one of them marmite love it or hate it things... I needed to free up some cash on the car to pay for bits to repair her...

Just finished fitting the cold start valve.... She starts first time, idles perfect!!

Finally the cars running properly, as its apparently never had this bit fitted to the engine...

Anyways, my mates tempting on having the car for track days so it might be going to a good home... Fingers crossed :)
