Seicento 1.4 Uno Turbo'd Seicento Rebuild Thread

Introduction

As a few of you may know, ive bought a nail of a car... I myself knew this, but i wanted to spend some time, money and effort to get it back in a show & stand worthy condition.

It was owned on here by 'wardy25' and as far as i can tell he spent a fortune on her... It was later sold, and then neglected... So far i understand that the car was left off the road for ages, owned by chavs, and thrashed, and thats only when its actually been running...

After it being sold on and on, i ended up snapping up the car...

The car has loads of problems, which i knew prior to me buying her, but she does come with loads of cool stuff...

The interior is full leather, its got powder coated abarth wheels, skirts spoiler, uprated brakes, and the main thing.... a tasty 1.4 uno turbo engine... which i think is the MK2 engine.

The car also comes with panels hanging off, cold start problems, faded paint, wiring faults, and more holes in the exhaust than swiss cheese....

So as a good thread goes.... here are a few pictures of the car in its current condition...

Hopefully in the near future, it wont look anything like it does today...
Bridge the switch with a small rating bypass fuse so as to keep auxillaries running.
Will blow if you try to start the car without the switch.

nope. bridge it with a (i think!)high wattage 1k resistor. it wont have enough power to turn the engine over. but it also wont blow when you forget to put the key back in.... also it protects the alternator if the key ever falls out and stop any sparks.

Is that the chassis plate next to the earth strap? I didn't know you were allowed to relocate them, might be handy to bear in mind if I ever pop a sub in :)

(we have the same air freshener :p)

Nope its the boot light... mine needs relocating as the battery was over the one on the car, so its currently in the door card... Will have to ask the MOT inspector when im next going past.

Sounds like a bloody good idea!! Might be off to maplins for a resistor sharpish!

try maplins number H1R
its a 10watt resistor. "should" be more then powerful enough to keep power to alarms/radio/ecu and maybe engine let you use the lights.

only about 50p so worth a try. test it first and see if it works ok. i expect it to get VERY hot if you turn the lights on.

Sorted out a bit of the rear flooring, with a good mdf panel, a 900w RMS amp (hidden) and a tasty vibe double 10" comp double bandpass box.....

Its only in until i have the seats, then will all be redone me thinks!

Also for anyone interested, my plates have been relocated to the panel.... (im not sure if its legal or illegal, but its better than getting them out of the door pocket if MR Plod requested to see them...)

As far as i think, they can be moved if there is a suitable reason as to why they have been moved.... The engine bay has had a replacement front slam panel, (hence why that ones been removed) and the rear one would be sat under the battery tray and board....

Will have to look into it with an MOT guy as soon as i get chance.

Looking at fitting the cold start valve today, which was kindly supplied by a member on here for £27.00... Seems like an expensive price for something second hand, but parts for the UNO Turbo's are stupidly hard to get hold of!! Motor factors dont stock parts, Fiat dont stock parts, and there are no Turbo's in any scrappy's ive visited....

The chap has even been kind enough to cut off some wiring out of another loom and give me that, plus some tubing to get it all installed, so a big hats off to him!!

So now i have to visit Custom Chrome to see if they can alloy weld me a tube into my induction side to fit my valve... Im also going to see if they can bend the induction tubing a bit more so it clears the bonnet, and doesnt stick out like a pedo in a bush.

I know its cheeky, but does anyone know of any exhaust places that would bend stainless tubing to the shape of my exhaust system if i supplied the stainless?

Ive managed to locate lengths of stainless tubing 2 1/4" in 1.7mtrs for £15, and two stainless exhaust ends for £10 ea... so £50 down the line i just need to pay the labour for someone to be a bender.... :p as i dont mind fitting it and building hangers etc.

Think custom chrome + powerflow will say i need to use their pipe, (which is about £60 per meter if i remember correctly)

Also gave the car a good clay bar, which removed loads of overspray and brought the paint work back up smooth and shiny... Think it could still do with a mop as some panels are a different shade of broom yellow lol...

Anyways heres the pics of my naughty plates (with edited numbers)....
(oh and the carpet is cut like that for a reason, there is a frame under the carpet which my comp vibe box slides into... looks neat with the box fitted)

Also forgot to mention a thanks to todger for the donated front indicators... apparently i had mk1's fitted which were smaller than the clear ones which are now fitted.... (i now owe him a drink lol)

Yep, unless they moved!

Ah will have to try there...

Custom chrome have quoted me £80-£100 to have the induction pipe bent once and a spout bit fitting....

And then to have a small bit of pipe from the middle box, into a 'Y' piece and then to each exhaust outlet with a chrome trim £200+

Think il be paying powerflow a visit... then if all else fails its a trip over to nottingham lol.

if you're happy to travel over to west mids, i can't recomend Unique Exhaust in Stafford enough. It's one bloke who does all the work, and does a bloody good job - sent a lot of business his way and not heard a bad word.

Do you know what his price's are like?

I can make an exhaust, but i just want it to flow as best as possible seeing as its a turbo'd engine..
