General High mileage Pandas (at least 100K miles on the clock)

The most amazing high mileage vehicle I've seen was an MZ 250 motorbike. They were a 20bhp single cylinder two stroke from East Germany before the wall came down. Basic but well built but badly carburetted so the engine would hunt (chunter) at part throttle. Not a big deal all part of the charm but they would be lucky to last to 50,000 miles without an engine overhaul.

This one used by a London despatch rider went for 250,000 miles on the original engine though it might have had a new piston at some time. It would have gone further but a SMIDSY car driver took it out. I asked how one earth he got it to last so long - he went everywhere flat out. It was hardly ever chuntering (think the old Mad Frog video) so it just went on and on.

Out of couriosty I’ve just checked on the Dvla site the mileage on my old diesel panda 205000 miles when I sold it It is now at 235000 at its last mot. Marvellous ? I’ve replaced it with a diesel 500 now 95000 marvellous as well but this one I don’t intend to sell

I think I might eclipse you but only because the target has stopped moving! Lol

What’s the mileage on the MiTo? The real question now is... are you going to catch up with my Panda? The tables have turned lol

Panda mileage still rising. Will put him up for sale towards the end of next week. Max the Mito lags well behind with just over 200 miles on the clock. I left him off to get detailed and coated. Have to start off well. Dez is parked in front of the garage door so it's easier to just take him than shuffle cars.

Last mileage report... Dez is gone!

Hi

i'm from Hungary, we have a 1.2 Dynamic Club from 2008 with 354000 km on the clock, that is approximately 220000 miles. We bought it 3 years ago with 324000km (200t Mi) on the clock and i was spending a fortune on spares until now.

i was replacing the clutch, brakes, wheel bearings, shocks, headlights, fog lights, belts, ac evaporator, battery and a lot of other stuff.

I've just passed 105k in my 05 multijet.

Just done a 5k mile round trip to Morocco, and never missed a beat.

We've got Doblo's at work with same engine, and they've got 300k+ miles on them, all with original cam chains. Change the oil regularly, and they'll go on forever.

A 1.2 on LPG at 192,000 here in Wales. The transmission sounds like gravel and marbles rubbing together when under load, but apart from that and the worn driver's seat, it is still a usable car. A gearbox/diff unit is in my garage, along with a new clutch, so once fitted, it should be nice and quiet.
