With the current government push to cleaner. electric cars

Makes you wonder if FIAT are even further from market appeal.

There have been panda elettra models for @ 30 years..and the only Current .. :) models I can find are 'special project' 500s with ridiculous pricing...

Anybody car to add to this..?

I'd be very surprised if FPT aren't already working on a decent hybrid platform, cost is probably their main sticking point as Fiats need to be cheaper than the competition, and right now there are very few small hybrid/electric cars which aren't hideously overpriced (mostly down to the battery cost).

The did the 500e in america which was a California only model to appease the government there with reguards to emmisons laws. So they have developed the technology, they just clearly don't think there is a market for them at the moment, especially as the 500e was ridiculously expensive.

Tesla have allowed any manufacture to use their tech royalty free to try and push the technology into the general domain.

Now that the new car tax laws in the UK have arrived this may push a few more people down the electric car route and as the demand grows fiat will inevitable jump on the band wagon, 12 months after everyone else as they always do.

The 500e wasn't great for Fiat. Didn't they only develop it to be able to sell cars in the Californian market? Their laws are a bit of a joke to be honest. I think they require at least one car in the range that's fully electric [or something along those lines]..

Even the CEO tells people NOT to buy them, and they lose money with each sale...

Still, I like the ad!

500e - it was sold in Kali , and Oregon

the dealers in other states are NOT paid to support them,

the resale values at the 3 year trade in were impressive..LY BAD..

$40k to $10k - see the cali one for sale on here.

basic ownership reviews seemed favourable - as it was NOT like a "LEAF / Dishwasher",

apparently pretty nippy , but abysmal range =@85 miles.
