Did you know that the Shadow race team built a car powered by a Fiat 500 engine?
It was called The Shadow Box and was built for Universal Oil Products around 1974
and is the only street registered car that they built.

it originally had a complex compound curved glass hatch smashed beyond recognition , it was hard enough getting a new windshield

It was supposed to be a hybrid with a Wankel powered generator and battery's but no suitable components could be found so a fiat 500 was used , Federal regulations (crash testing) made going farther with production to problematic, and building CanAm race cars was much easier.
