Solar watch which I’ve had for years recently gave up, the capacitor was no longer working, ( rechargeable battery) These things cost silly money to replace if you use so called experts. I sent away for watch repair tools off eBay, and with much searching for days managed to find an appropriate capacitor. Success, fiddly but watch now working just for a few quid :D Also changed the dud battery in my Seiko watch. Little things seem to buck the spirits somewhat...:)

I took a Seiko Kinetic watch to a so called specialist (many years ago now) and the “specialist” got grit in the mechanism, resulting in the watch stopping work after about a month, and the mechanism making a horrible grinding noise when you moved your hand. I now have a seiko solar to replace it, but 99.999% of the time I wear my Apple Watch so the nice watches don’t get any love

I've not worn a watch for over 20 years, pretty much since I got my first mobile I think.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't feel like I need to know the time that often to need one? Or maybe I spend so much time in front of a computer, staring at it's little clock, that I don't need another reminder :p

Boris really needs to get his act together regarding Brexit on how it may affect N Ireland. Biden has made it quite clear that trading with Britain may be a no go if the peace agreement is in jeopardy. Once we walk away from Europe, we will need all the help we can get.

This post! Boris getting his head together. Ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha..

You might as well put two pebbles in a galvanised bucket and rattle it round as the sounds would be more intelligent than him.

Expecting that dim-wit to actually do anything other than sponsoring bullying will end in severe disappointment. If Cameron didn't do enough to justify the extinction of the conservatives entirely on his own then this buffoon surley should. These two should be invited to spend a couple of days at the Tower of London on their way out.

Sorry Jim not getting at you... just Boris makes me want to go live somewhere else.

I was the same, even slating the Apple watch when it came out - after all, who needs one, it does everything a phone does right?

A previous role phones were banned due to customer data etc, watch was a way around this and seeing urgent text messages etc that were sent without the need to get the phone out.

I wouldn't be without it now tbh. Handy for health tracking etc also. Used to use it when swimming, for tracking my 1/2k swims.

Thanks! I'll post any future headaches on here with it. Found that AutoDoc sells the sensors for £9 (Valeo) so feeling a bit more optimistic now knowing I can source decent ones and pop them on myself should they play up next year.

As for bodywork, going to get it professionally touched up next year (lots of stone chips / white spots on my bonnet). Tried touching up the Panda's stone chips with a genuine pen a few months ago but it wasn't as easy as I expected so thought it'd be worth having done maybe every two years or so. I was actually going to get it wrapped matt grey all over (maybe matte black roof) if I could get it done for a grand but place quoted me £1500+VAT and that's too steep

I bought a Double action polisher sander and its superb at making home applied touching up disappear. Worth every penny.

Also I strongly recommend you try Chipex paint repair system before paying for this. The results I have had with this system are astounding. Paint on out bright yellow panda is so good I cannot actually see where I have touched it up. 3 cars all paints are 100% perfect paint colour match.

In Scotland he’s pretty much disliked so much that he’s swayed an independent voter that wasn’t before. This isn’t the time for an independent Scotland for several reasons, but that’s a whole different story.

It’s actually been brought to my attention one way or another that watch wearing is pretty much a thing of the past in today’s young team. I still hold a fascination with time pieces :D I’m well past the watch being a fashion accessory, but I still like to look at the time on what I think is a nice item.

Also the youth of today can’t read clocks like we did in the good old days!!

I wonder what they’d make of the old “digital” alarm clocks with the rollerdex style numbers that click round..... attached to a teasmaid and it would blow their minds !

Try explaining to a new driver that we go around roundabouts clockwise, and see the look of astonishment and pain on their face.

A digital clock tells the time, precisely, which is only part of the story. An analogue clock does more. It displays the time, but in relation to the day. e.g. 3pm is not just 15:00, but mid-afternoon, or only two more hours before home-time. It is instant, whereas a digital readout has to be interpreted.

Recently, I've only bothered wearing my watch when I go out. I have a battery driven Seiko, that also helpfully tells the day and date. I'd prefer an older self-winding watch, but sadly don't move around enough to keep it going.

only time i see a clock is on the corner of computer on on dashboard and that is an hour out, this new van cant even reset clock but disconnecting battery at midnight it stores it some how.

I put a joke on facebook using covid19 to have a pop at morons who believe stuff they read on facebook.

I've just had it removed because it contains false information.

So:
a) The algorithm doens't get jokes

or

b) Facebook doesn't like joke about themselves.

:):):):)

I remember back in the day, when I learnt to tell the time, my parents would buy me my first watch, it was a timex wind up jobby still going strong today, I gave to my grandson who is 12...:D

A nice reminder. I've still go tmy first watch, a Timex, still works if I bother to wind it. It is over 60 years old, but not really used much for the last 50 of those.

Managed to sneak in my First run since I had Covid during nap time.

Managed six miles at about 5 minutes slower than usual but I'll take that given I've put on half a stone since summer and most of my exercise seems to involve herding tiny humans or lifting chocolate/coffees to my face.

Feeling so much better for it, must try and get a routine going now it's too dark after work.
