Just a small change, but one which makes us a bit more "FIAT"

Have updated the forum and thread status icons (the red, green + blue icons next to a forum/thread) from the circular buttons to the FIAT logo shaped ones.

We're happy to announce that the ePER server has now been updated to version 36, meaning the Nuavo Bravo is now supported.

The file structure was slightly different to the old one, so please let me know if you find something that's not quite running properly - but I've done a quick test and it...

 

As a number of useful posts had started popping up in non-car forums, the decision was made to allow "thank you"s to be given to any posts (in any forum).

However, this doesn't mean it's a chance for a thank you free for all - people abusing the system will be banned from giving "thanks" - so...

 

Yes, it's finally here - the ability to now search through your PM list

It can be found in the PM menu, just about "Track Messages" and allows you to search on keyword, author or recipient.

Very useful if you have thousands of the buggers!

 

Yes people, we're happy to announce that we've finally got our own copy of the ePER software running - so you no longer have to rely on a dodgy copy that disappears after a few weeks - even better, it's on its own dedicated server, so won't affect the running of FF at all

Added an option to the "Quick Links" drop down menu to list all threads you have posted in "Threads I've Posted To".

Saves you having to subscribe to everything now

 

Hopefully not to be a repeat of the disaster last time, but VBSEO has now been upgraded again. Supposed improvements with this version are a large speed increase due to the removal of encryption.

Certainly the load on the servers should reduce as the ioncube loaders don't need to boot up each...

 

Updated the coding so that the "forum postbit" (which used to just contain a link) now contains detailed information for the 'Donations', 'Classifieds' and 'Links' section (Last Posted, Total Count etc.)

A small change, but a worthwhile change none the less

 

The old "vBug" bug tracker has now been replaced with "vB Project Tools".

Not only is this version a lot more stable, but it includes many useful features not found in the previous version - these include issue tracking, attachment uploads and customised update alerts.

Simply use the "Thumbs Up" button at the bottom of the post to express your gratitude

 

In an effort to kerb spam bots, a new rule has been set into play.

You can only post a URL link once you have made 5 other posts on the forum.

Shouldn't affect real users and will also stop people joining up just to spam their own sites too

vBulletin has been upgraded to the latest version.

It had quite a lot of changes and I might have missed a few, so please let me know if you find any bugs

 

The upgrade of VBSEO wasn't such a good idea

It brought the FF down for around 4 hours (just after I went out ... always ... typical!)

Downgraded back to the lower version and await a response from the VBSEO team before upgrading again!

 

Updated VBSEO (the software that does all the URLs) to version 3.0.1.

Also running a beta of the unencrypted source, which can cause perfomance gains - we'll soon find out

Over the next few weeks, vBulletin will be upgraded, as well as Photopost (which will bring in a load of new features)

 

Ok - I'm all finished now and quite happy with everything.

The background has been changed from drab grey, so a darker blue. Not only does this look better, but it helps draw the focus into the middle of the page - thus being easier on the eye
