I always liked the idea of the big speech marks around quotes, so have implemented the same on here - I reckon it looks pretty cool

What do you think?

 

Seeing as you lot have been hassling me so much about FIATs new logo colour - have a nice red bad in the header to replace the old blue one

And no - I won't change the logo again!

 

The spacing has been removed between table cells, which means the borders have effectively gone.

This has caused issues with some parts of the site, which I will have to sort out - but most has now been sorted

 

Can you see it?

A *tiny* *tiny* change - there's now a small thin black line around the white parts of the logo ... why ... so now it can be printed on white paper of course

 

Google have mailed and asked me to move the links bar

It's now between the first and second post, but it's tiny, so don't worry about it.

Unregistered users now get a leaderboard unit at the bottom of the page.

 

A new little bar at the bottom of each page which has some google search suggestions for further reading material.

Nice and small and unobtrusive, but there if you want it

Added a Doblo guide section - so anyone who's going to be working on their dobby, please take photos and get us a nice guide written

 

Made the events listing a bit easier to understand, made the event title a big bigger and put the date up the top. Removed the user name for posting (un-needed) and added icons for each of the "detail" fields.

 

Small update, but a new field "Gallery" has been added to all events threads.

So if the event has a gallery link, it will be linked directly from the main event information page

 

Tiny change to the website icon (the little picture that appears in the address bar). It's now got the double "F" in it ... kinda symbolises FiatForum better than just "F"

 

A new cool addon has just been installed which scans posts for Youtube and Googlevideo links and converts them to embedded video player links

 

You may have noticed a new field when you make a post now titled "Tags".

So what are they? You might ask.

I've installed a new system from Zoints which is basically a massive network bookmarking tool (and also relevant locally in the forum too) - as a thread is created a tagged, the tag...

 

5 links will have appeared at the bottom of the forum pages - they're completely random and might have no relevance to the FF whatsoever, however should help with SEO ...

Feel free to ignore them totally

 

To stop massive picture links stuffing up the forum, there's now a new add on installed which javascript resizes them if they go over 570 pixels (which will fit in the classic look)

If you want to change the behavior of this, go to User CP > Options, when you can modify (or remove) this feature...

 

As requested, the shop has now been updated with 4 new styles of hats - so hopefully something for everyone

Also the postage costing has been revised and is now at a fixed £3.50, regardless of how many items you order, it was just getting too complicated before to work the pricing out.

 

Ad inventory should be complete now - the navbar bits seem to be working well, and I assume everyone would be happier as less space is taken up now than before

The last thing I'm looking at are Pop Unders. So called as they go under the current window, instead of on top (which would be...

 

The unregistered users and the adsense is working well, but registered users click a whole lot less (understandable) - so have injected a Tribal Fusion CPM into the fix (it shows up 1 in 4 times) - which pays per view, not click.

Will evaluate and see how this works out over the next week

 

We've been accepted onto the Tribal Fusion advert network, who provide banners on a CPM basis (they pay per 1000 impressions).

It's only visible for non-registered users and fits in nicely next to the horrible massive adsense block However, at least the page looks even now ...
