Yellow - FS Project Seicento 2

well today was a big improvement for the sei as this happened for the first time in over a year of having the car :D

bear in mind the supersprint manifold isnt bolted on to anything at the moment so no comments on how rough it sounds :D and miss out the 40 seconds in the middle it takes mark to remember how to use a clutch :D

cheers to mark today with all the help that has got this thing up and running again :D

hahaha, in my defence the clutch isn't set up quite right yet and doesnt quite give you an option of when the biting point comes in, hence the rather erratic clutch control on the first run away from the camera and the manic wheelspin from first to second when the clutch suddenly decided to engage about 5 seconds after i'd smoothly brought it up

its running fine the way it is just need to sort out a small mount problem and then a tiny circle of welding on the exhaust put the rest of the bits back on the car polish and clean it then take it for an mot and see what happens :)

Nice one Daz.
Good to see it's running (just), how long till it's fully legal on the road again??

theres no "just" about it, it's running really well as can be seen from the lack of traction when the clutch kicks in and the acceleration from then on in :D

its just got a really short bitting point it just sort of snaps into place so we will adjust the clutch cable see if we can tone it down a notch and get the mount sorted im hoping then may be able to get the exhaust piece welded at work for the final fitment :)

The time feels right to pick up this thread and do a wee update!

So, we picked the car up a few weeks back as I'm sure you all know - with the original plan to strip her for parts. But yeh, we couldn't and the rest as they say is history.

Before todays update, I've just remembered Abyss's last post there about an engine mount which may need attention. Not sure if that was rectified or not, but there is a knocking from the front of the car so that may well be what we're looking for. Will add it to the list of things to check.

Anyway, in recent weeks we've re-routed and adjusted the clutch cable - maybe with more to do? We've re-instanted the o/s headlight, with a bit of wiring, and refitted the indicators too. Engine wiring has been slightly rerouted and tidied up and we've swapped over the batteries. Today, as we push for an October MOT, we managed to refit the front bumper. Although there are still a couple of bolts to be fitted, she's on and in place. That bumper is going nowhere! That's despite the usual stubborn bolt which just won't come out. Nothing one of our many hacksaws won't sort!!

Next weekend I'm hopeful I won't be the head mechanic for the day lol. Thanks to my cousin Ross who popped by to help and for the loan of the drill. Next weekend we need to check the CV boot (though I cleaned off most of the slime from it) A quick tighten of the bumper, swap shocks and rear brakes and she should* be ready for the MOT.

Yes!!!

That's a point - front fogs have the wiring attached to the rear, but I can't see anything in the engine bay to connect 'em to. So - am I missing something obvious, somewhere? Or could we simply remove them for the purposes of an MOT?

grab the lights cable stretch as far as it goes and wave it in a motion to see its range of how far the cable goes lol its there somewhere lol
