Yellow - FS Project Seicento 2

Should be able to tell straight away tho, like I said it was stinking of cataclean when I was running it, so will know almost straight away if its improved

Hey bonus is thats a HELL of a lot better than the last :) and anyway will need lowering springs on the front to match the rear lol

Keep away from universal/cheap/2nd hand ones, we can try the ones on the pickup atm cos we have them, if we have to buy... buy new and genuine ones. The amount of times I have bought cheap and then had to buy genuine I would have saved a fortune by now..

that says 1.1 tho, is yellow a 1.2? or is it all the same bits?

same bits :)

Just make sure if fitting lowering springs that they seat correctly in the shocks when uncompressed as it'll be spotted when the car is lifted.

Lambda, could try swapping Fiascos but it's a lottery if that's a good-un or not.

I still have a gut feeling there's a minor vacuum issue, though the lambda might be the source of it too. I didn't like the way it cut out downhill on route to the car park Saturday, wether that was something just deciding to give up at that point or crap blocking fuel supply as we went downhill etc, i don't know. But i suggest that fuel filter gets changed as a precaution.

If its still overfuelling slightly with the lambda being off, could it just be drowning plugs on sudden deceleration causing it to cut out?

Ok...lots of ideas and comments posted on here and facebook yesterday.

I think there's a plan of attack.

We have spare springs in the shed. As long as these are ok (and I can't remember any issues with them) then they'll be fitted over.

That 1.1 Lambda (which I gather will work) has been ordered. We'll disconnect the existing one on Saturday to see how that affects the running. Pending that, then we'll replace the lamda as neccessary.

While in about the engine bay though I'm alos going to try and check for any additional vacuum leaks...just in case.

I'm desperate to put yellow through on a retest as we know the 2 problems, so here's hoping.

Im thiking it could have cut due to lack of fuel on hill no fuel sitting in the area for it to be pumped through could maybe be that simple

It did actually cut out on me while I was sitting with it before mot yesterday, just came off throttle.

Lewis had a quick look at the springs in the shed when we put Yellow back in this morning and confirmed they are ok. The fuel light is on again which he thought was a problem as adding more fuel would dilute the cataclean but I did a quick bit of reading online and it appears to last for several tanks so I think we're going to be ok putting more unleaded in - essential if it still has to be run for a good while before retesting. Does the lambda need to be tested hot?

Can someone remind me we're going to need diesel for the generator as unfortunately our usual source is on holiday until next week

The lambda will be tested hot as the car is kept at 3000rpm during emissions test, quite a temperature of gasses to be going past the probe

I guess that means a quick trip to the garage to put fuel in on the way to the test centre

Got an email from Kwik Fit this morning asking me to fill in their customer satisfaction questionnaire. I'm not sure I should as it'll probably go along the lines of you failed our car you bastards!
