Plan for tomorrow is to be on site for 9 am as some of us have commitments elsewhere and need to be away by 2 pm. If you can't make it for 9 but would still like to join us text me (not Martyn as his phone is never charged) and let me know when you arrive so I can let you in.
I know security was a little lax over the holiday period and some people were let through the barriers without advance permission or me being there but this should not continue. The area supervisor is not impressed and has stressed both to his staff and me that no-one goes through the barriers unless I have clearly identified them. If you haven't received a text from me confirming you will be waved through please wait until I turn up at the gate.
Ok, that's the nagging out of the way. Plan of action is to start with the suspension and then deal with the lambda - fingers-crossed the new one arrives in time.
hopefully Yellow will be going for a retest next week
Well a couple of hours up at the shed (again) today
Remember that spring that we thought was ok before the last MOT??
Oops :/
So yeh...front now sits nicely on the springs which @marti155donated to us months back. Cheers mate
As yet there's no sign of the replacement lambda sensor, so thats a job for Monday or Tuesday evening. Thanks again to lewisp for his help. He also managed to get the anti roll bar bushes replaced on Izzy, even though it meant an impromptu trip to Persley for a new clamp and bolts
All being good well swap the lambda one evening this week and present yellow for retest.
I was also feeling rebelious today...
It was hard to call really with the diesel fumes from my tractor and the generator in the shed however once it was in the open air it did seem slightly less rich.
Now the springs and lambda sensor have been replaced we're going for a retest in the next day or so however as it's a fiat nothing is straight forward. Tonight we had to bump start Yellow as the battery is once again flat. We have a promise of another battery but it won't be fitted before the retest so it's going to take luck and a decent run before hand to have it in a state that the mot tester will take it in. This means a probable jump start to get it going again, a trip to the garage to put air in the tyres plus fuel followed by yet another probable jump start and then a wee run to our bestest friends at kwik fit
We have a replacement coming, courtesy of Ransoman - the existing one is holding a bit of charge, and when we have the car running longer it indeed holds enough charge to last. Cold days though and lack of use mean it's definately needing replaced in the long run
We had to put more fuel in before the test but according to cataclean it should last for several tanks. The only other thing I can think of is that we put in V-power Nitro+ as opposed to the normal unleaded - would that have affected our CO2 readings?
Engine was hunting throughout the test but wasn't in the shed when we first fired it up. Martyn recorded the journey so perhaps we can work out from there if it started hunting before or after the V-Power was added
