no pics but i was a passenger in a newer shape mk4? vectra van sat at a T junction waiting to turn onto the Main road mate sat with handbrake on, going nowhere because of traffic coming from out right, anyhow along comes Woman driver in a Ford Maveric from the left indicating right she then pulls into the right turn feeder lane/box then fails to see an oncoming Corsa mk1/A hits him drivers side to drivers side, corsa spins out and hits my mates van on his drivers side with the passenger side of the corsa, shoves us about 4ft side ways and corsa bounces about 30 mtrs down the road,

me and my mate the woman and her child walked away unhurt the driver of the corsa had nutted the steering wheel and his wife had to be cut out of the passenger seat (by a rally rescue team which stopped on their way home from a Rally in Crompton Forest) then a basics doctor who had also been at the rally stopped they had her on a KED before the ambulance turned up :slayer:

Bad pic but i cant find any others that are on pc.
Me and Liam both had large incidents in imola cinqs and lived to tell the tale!
Broken bones mend at the end of the day. The car can get replaced :)

Last June i was driving around my local town (sutton) in the monsoon weather. Had a Golf Mk4 back then. Was in convoy with some friends going to play snooker...and it was the sensible kind of convoy that actually got overtaken on the same corner at the same time i crashed by a bicycle!!!

Anyway, had some cheap 'all weather' tyres on the car that were diabolical in the dry so you can imagine what they were like in the flood!

Came round the ring road corner by TGI fridays at about 20mph in traffic, car started to spin out right so i corrected left...didn't spin the wheel back quick enough though so instead of crashing right I veered left, went up a curb and hit a tree at about 5mph...How embarrassing :(

The car was a write off and that's the end of that

Ignore the stripes...they did look rather cool...but then in our naievity we tried to pull them off in the rain in case it voided the insurance  that was only a week after that very car was sitting on the lawns of last years Goodwood Festival of Speed :(

If that's what 5mph can do to a VW then i dread to think how anyone else can survive in a more severe crash in a lesser car!

an expensive mistake having those put on then

Not blaming you as for all i know the car could have come with them fitted when you bought it.

but it surprises me how many people Skimp on tires, they are the only point between you and the road

Well, er, struggling a bit here. Had a woman run into the back of my Uno in about 1992. I looked in the rear view mirror just in time to see her approaching at about 15 mph as I sat at some lights. What I noticed most was the driver looking at her passenger as they had a very animated chat. At the last second she looked forward with eyes almost as wide as her mouth and made contact at about 10 mph. Slight scuff on rear bumper. But my moment of "glory" came in 1979 on the M6 on the way back from seeing Led Zep at Knebworth when everybody in front came to a grinding halt. Except me. I had a couple of excellent witnesses in the shape of 2 very nice chaps sitting on the hard shoulder in a very nice white Jaguar XJ6 with orange stripes down the sides and blue lights on the roof. The car was drivable although slightly bent. That's about it really. There is a temptation to say mine was bigger than yours; but I think I can consider myself lucky that that's
not the case. Sometimes you can keep yourself out of trouble by skill and judgement, but when things go wrong, it's almost all down to luck.
