Which car are you buying this year?

Picking up the new family bus tomorrow. It's replacing a VW Tiguan. Positive that I'll have range anxiety and no doubt worry (as it will definitely happen) that the wife will scuff the 21" alloys.View attachment 457732
Every so often VW do come out with something pretty cool... the Audi A2... the (NOT 2000s) but following Beetle I thought was pretty out there at a time and market (which mostly they made) so dull. I think the new Buzz is in the interesting category once again but for the next generation... 21" alloys, just the thought of that makes me nervous at how closely you have it parked to the kerb in that photo!!!!!!

Will you take it on many big adventures, or will the range anxiety be a bit of a stick in the mud to those plans? You are going to be living in the future with that!

A Coupe is one of my bucket list cars to own, my dad's friend had a 20v Turbo in Scotts green with the tan interior such a beautiful car it was & quick
Snap, I have always yearned for a 20vt, an old friend of mine had an LE and it was stunning.

I have always wanted a 20v Marea wagon too. No chance of ever owning one of them now though, they are extinct as far as I know.

2025 was going to be the year I finally bought a campervan, after almost 2 years of looking and saving up for a van in the right spec and colour.

However, the ideal van, with low mileage, a year old, in the right spec, with 5 years servicing, breakdown and warranty included popped up in a dealership about 20 miles away. How could I refuse?

Picked the big blue bus up tail end of last year.

The website "how rare is my car" says that there are 3 left in the UK with a valid MOT. I'm not sure of a way around this, pay big money? Import one? Rebuild one?
Yeah, I keep an eye out and nearly bagged one about two years ago, a 1300 three door saloon. There’s an orange 3p, with a 1500cc engine, that keeps cropping up on eBay, same seller each time, but also the same description and photos…knowing exactly what they’re like, I suspect the front end is trying to detach itself from the rest of the car!

LOL. So tying the front end on with rope no longer works?! LOL

It's one of my earliest Fiat memories after the many 131's my dad had owned 😂 as I was around 4 years old when his mate purchased it & I remember just standing there & staring at this nearly new Coupe 20v Turbo in amazement as it was so good looking so whenever I behaved I was allowed to go for a ride in the Coupe & I've wanted one ever since especially in the same colour combination but it's soo hard to find a rust free low mileage one nowadays & the values have shot up plus I already have 2 cars so can't afford another for the time being. The Marea 20v always seemed to be quite rare compared to the Bravo 20v, Coupe 20v, Stilo Abarth etc & having owned a Bravo the metal wasn't particularly the greatest & surprisingly thin similar to a MK2 Punto so can only assume the Marea would have been made from the same grade stuff.

Nice! I could do with something this size, what is the range?
The WLTP range is 250, but from what I’ve read/seen it’s 200 to 210 with the battery in this Buzz (2023 MY) but only 96 miles on the clock from new - sat in VW compound.
I think the current factory order Buzz has a slightly bigger battery, something like 85KW, so probably worth an extra 10 miles. 🤣

As soon as they came out I always said to myself “one day we’ll get one” but the price was just too much. Anyway as we all know electric vehicles depreciate a fair bit from new these days. Just like this one.
I got a blinding deal 96 miles from new and £30k off of the new list price.
The time is right to buy electric if you have always thought about giving it a go.
In terms of adventures - most definitely. Already scoped out some front seat adaptors, which allows them to spin them round to face the rear seats. Captains seat style. Also it comes with the Flex-board, so with the rear seats folded, everything is one level in the back and apparently pretty much you got a 6 foot double bed.
The van has a fair few options on it, but the one I really like is the electrically opening rear sliding doors. Handy.
I will put some photos up in the next few days.

You could always do what I saw yesterday to improve range…get it recovered by the RAC
Don’t think it was a drained battery fault as it was being winched onto the wagon whilst, what looked like, the original responders van there! Looked like a fancy one too with its orange and white paint job

Yeh i bet the original responders van couldn't tow it.... Think they're something like 2500Kg, so a bit more than my Cinquecento Sporting which is 750Kg and my Abarth 595 which is about 1100Kg. I can see the ID Buzz eating 21" tyres for breakfast..... £££'ss

Still after a nice three door 128 or coupe/3p
Or
An autobianchi A112, obviously an abarth or sound body but needing an engine (500 Abarth 😉)

My first Fiat was a silver 128 S reg, 3 door ‘estate’ I was given. I passed my test in it and ran it for a couple of years until the concrete sill (I kid you not) fell off. I was unaware of the concrete sill but remember my dad commenting how sturdy and rust free the sills were for a 9 year old Fiat !. That’s cos there was no metal.

I’d love another, but my drive is full and my Panda would be jealous 🐼🤣

The car manufacturers have quotas that the government says they must meet or else they pay fines. This does sound like a cracking deal and you've caught the timing just right.

Hahahaha…I’ve found the usual filler, newspaper, tin foil, expanding foam etc but never concrete

This one would be my favourite from your options!
This is my least favored option. Not available at all with a diesel engine, Not sure I want to go back to petrol.

Just remembered another possible option is the Arteon R Shooting brake was nearly 60k new buy I recon I could get a good deal on one used now.
Another option I have looked at a lot, especially living out in the country and being stuck a few years back when the beast of the east came, would be a crew cab, Maybe I could get an older Defender 110, or something more modern like a Amrok.
