Technical Where to find Panda multijet starter motor upper bolt

Well, this is weird.
I located the top bolt hole, but there is no bolt.
I stuck a piece of thick metal wire in there and it is the same as the bottom one. I can stick it in quite a few centimeters.
The motor is fixed there, It doesn't budge, but I don't know how?

I't s a 2007 Multijet Cross.

No top bolt
No bottom bolt
Yet working

Does not sound possible to me

Well, it's not working, that's why I am inspecting it.
It was working fine. Well, I say fine but it has been cranking a little slow, but had me thinking it was a low battery.
Then at start up the other day, it cranked slow as usual - but didn't start. Tried again and it started to smoke and smell burnt.
I stopped cranking and after that there is just one click and then nothing.
Battery is full.

Went to inspect the starter and now it seems both bolts are missing!?

Should be able to reach down and take a photo so we know what we are dealing with

Have you tested the earth strap (voltage drop test)

What warning lights are on when you put the ignition on

Do they change when you try and crank the engine

With ignition on yellow check engine light, battery light and oil light stays on.
When trying to crank they stay on.

I haven't done any voltage drop test.

I ordered a new starter, but first I have to get this one out.
It is stuck.

First picture upper bolt hole. Second from down under.

Great photos thanks

Leave it with me, while I get my head around the photos,

I can match up one of the bolts

The other I am struggling with

I make it should look like this

Screenshot_20231218_163142.jpg

6mm hex

Might be behind a rubber bung

I don't know if all 1.3 are the same

But it matches up well with the photo earlier in the thread, that's just behind a smaller hole

Also looks like a hex to me

And from further back

In your first picture
Is it hiding behind the red wire in a recess?

Well, thanks for your help guys!

I got help from a car Dr. nearby with a garage with tools and lift.
He got it fixed for me but we didn't see each other when I picked up the car unfortunately so he couldn't show me.

But he said, there was no bolts in the two holes. But there was another bolt in the gearbox somewhere. All he said was "no wonder you didn't find it. I had to use my inspection camera to locate it, and use 3 extensions for the wrench to get to it."

With a new starter she turns over like never before. Excellent!
