Right, firstly apologies to anyone called Shaw. Car SOS just came on. Mrs is mumbling loudly no not that i(diot Tim Shaw) I cant stand him... why do they have hom on this show, I hate the stupid antics... whats the point??

Youngest pondering. "Whats his surname"?

Mrs. "I cant remember but I can't stand him"

Me. "Shaw"

Mrs. "S**t head and Wa***r"

I am still picking myself off the floor.

Sorry Tim Shaw, I know its just TV.

Would that have been a Mk4 Ford Zephyr? Around 1974 I had a Mk4 V6 on 6.70 x 13 cross ply tyres, it used to spend most of it's life sideways going around bends, the youngsters of today think they invented drifting.
As an apprentice Vauxhall PA Crestas, Mk3 Ford Zodiacs where great fun.;)
Slightly later when around 4 Ford Sierra 4x4s were being used by the police in the South West and as the story went, the last one lost it chasing a Austin Maestro on a roundabout.;)
Yes thats the one. Not a difficult decision NOT driving half a mile out to sea on a sandy beach towing a motor launch on a skinny tyred trailer with a heavy rear wheel drive car on skinny tyres, but hey ho may be it was a company car or a Police inspector LOL

I did have a near one in the 1980s I was dropping my boat off onto a river mooring at nearly low tide from a trailer using my diesel Land Rover, took too long securing the mooring with incoming tide and paddled my dingy back to the LandRover, all I could see of the trailer was the two guide poles, water was over the bottom of the Land Rover doors, I tied the dingy to the bumper, climbed over the bonnet and got in, exhaust well under water so I had one chance, plenty of heater plug , full throttle and blasted back to the slipway with a sigh of relief, drove up the hill, got to the junction, braked and carried straight on due to soaking wet drum brakes, luckily nothing coming, phew!;)

Eight years ago today, I spent the best $6200.00 ever.

More fun than you are legally allowed to have.

Having seen one close up and how immensely rugged they are I am many shades of green with envy. I really fancy a Ural.

I'm getting that response from the motorcyclist rights group I belong to. There's a saying that goes, "Everyone hates the sidecarist until he shows up at camp with a keg of beer and dinner for 12."

Similar thing with me and I've stopped watching F1 on Freeview because I just can't take one of the presenters.

I watch it on channel 4, mainly because you know Couthard and Webber really do know what they are talking about when it comes to racing cars.
I used to always record it in Schumachers day, then when he won I would delete without watching , as a boring procession was not what I called racing, plus after the time he spun off, then deliberately let his car roll back into the second car. Hardly sportsman like!

Not by any chance that moron who cannot stop calling laps tours? I just wrote a rant and decided to delete it. Whats ever is the matter with the people who are enthusiasts and experts who know what they are talking about.

Oh yes, there's a couple of chaps who know the sport inside out and communicate very well too. I could listen to them for hours. Some years ago we had sky TV and I subscribed to the f1 channel. Coverage and presenters were in a whole different league. Austerity caused us to ditch the Sky contract - now watch Freeview on a Humax Aura box and don't really miss the Sky channels.

Picked up our new pet dog today, spot, and a bit of training. 😄😄😄

My family think i just mess around at work, I've also had to get qualified as a commercial drone pilot to be able to fly our other expensive toy

Much the same feeling, but in retrospect he was exceptionally good.

Not so purist, but I like it, is the Australian Supercars. If you want purist stuff there's always the DTM which has some pretty exciting close racing usually and if you ever get the chance to see one of the cars with it's "clothes" off they are beautifully engineered. Formula one is pretty tame by comparison I'm ashamed to say.

As a mechanical/technology geek, this is why f1 will always be top:

However, a bit like the Olympics, i always wish they would have an unregulated, go as fast as possible, using anything available, category.

For purist driver racing, they tried that with the sealed setup and rover 25 cars, nice idea, but so dull to watch.
