the best place to put tweeters are at ear level, facing towarsd you. so on the wing mirror adjuster bit is the best place. :D (y)

How on earth is wing mirror level with ears?

In the A Pillar is good, especially if done like the talkaudio thread

Or another idea, if not to late, get pillar pods, used for guages normally, but fit tweets in them? or guages and tweets?
I had to laugh at that!

I drilled the holes to cut out the main tweeter shape.
Then I hot glued them in place at a slight angle.
I then asked my mum to borrow a pair of tights. Her initial response was "You playing dress up?" lol
So I wrapped that tight around it then hot glued the back to keep it in place.
Then I went on a resined it! I'm really happy with the result so far! I have done 2 layers and dependent on how sturdy it is tomorrow, may result in me doing another coat but it seems thick enough!
I will have to get some fabric tomorrow and some of that spray glue in a can.
and when it's fully dried I need to drill out the holes for the tweets and the screw at the top, then sand down smooth.
What you think?

Looks like you are doing a good job of that. Im surprised that the tights were dense enough to soak up the resin, would of though it wouldn't be thick enough to form a good base, but looks good so far.

Have you though about maybe colour coding them to the car rather than covering them in fabric, might be a bit too OTT though.

Thanks. Yeh at first it was kinda sitting on top but nothing my paintbrush couldn't solve. I just put more on and I could see it soaking it up behind the tights.
If it's still flimsy tomorrow when it's all dry I shall give it another few coats to make sure..
Never thought tights could be so handy lol.
About colour coding - I don't think I would be prepared to get an even smooth finish, smooth enough to paint - And even then I would do it black.
I think Fabric would look more pro
Cheers for comment

@Graig - Thank you!

Ok so it turned out hardener for body filler wasn't that great. It has stuck, but still flimsy so I went up to ASK and bought some resin hardner. This is what I needed in the first place. duhh!
So i've put a total of 3 coats on now 2 - filler hardener 1 - resin hardner
I will end up putting another coat on in an hour.
Bought my fabric too, it's a light grey which I think will go with my interior and dash etc. £9. It's also like i nthe guide with the foam backing
This is becoming quite a cheap thing to do.
Resin - £6.00
Hardener £1.50
Fabric - £9.00
Glue spray - £3.00

I have completed one side.
It went pretty well although there is a clear rough part where I had to tear away the Resin for it to fit in the gap but overall looks not bad and sounds a lot better- which I was going for in the first place. I would have chosen black too!
What do you think?

They look pretty good, the only things i would say is that it might have been better to mount them slightly higher - more at head hight, and also that it would have been better to try and angle them more into the cabin - so that all the sound is directed at the people in the car.

But they look good, pretty professional for a first go, sure you could sell that sort of thing on ebay or to other members :)

Cheers.
I tried having them higher when I did the test but they sounded too trebally (word?)
Lower down sounded a lot better.
And they rotate on their axis so I can point them at the driver, in the pics they were flush pointing where the mounts were but I can swivel them towards me, to an extent though obviously.
That bottom part is p****** me off though where the resin had to be broken off and you can clearly see the outside. Perhaps I could think of something to solve that.

The other side though seems bang on a perfect fit with no hard resin having to be removed so it's all smooth. Will get results up on Sunday.

Thanks for the comment :)

Yeah when i upgraded my tweeters the treble was way to loud, so ive just turned the treble down on the headunit :)
