Hi everyone. I have been having a tough time with the wiring on my 1994 punto gt. When I got the car it was missing its ecu so I bought another one (from a 1995) and fitted it and the ignition switch barrel. I have been through the whole engine wiring harness as it seemed a bit dodgy from the previous owner. The problem is that I am getting no fuel pump and no spark when turning over. I have checked the fuel pump works by bypassing the relay so its not that. I am thinking that it might be something to do with the immobilizer system. If you have had to deal with something similar any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

With older vehicles it was sometimes possible to fit the ECU, ignition keys including the chip in key from an identical model, also some said change the antennae ring around ignition key hole which I tend to discount as only picking up signal from chipped key to pass to computer.
However if later model with Body Computer also then unlikely to work as most store other vehicle data specific to that vehicle including Vin. Number etc.
Are you getting any dash lights pointing to an immobiliser light either not coming on when key first turned on or not going off before trying to start vehicle. If so that sounds like the problem.
If this is your engine Series number 176 A4.000 this data below may help. Let us know please to help others.:)

Hi billy, have you tried swapping the two relays over on the drivers side inner wing engine bay , they are for the fuel system. also try a new crank pos sensor . as mike says does the key light on the dash go out ?

Thanks for the help, I have never had a key light but I do have an injector light which makes me think that the ecu is registering. I have replaced the relay so it cant be that. I can replace the crank pos sensor if that might be a cause.
