Tuning turbo time!

Well I drove the cinq today for the first time. car feels much better. engine is much more revy and seems to much smoother all the way to the limiter and does not sound as painful at high rpms.

clutch seems to of survived its coating of gearbox oil (soaked it in a tub of petrol)

need a new front gearbox mount

All engine mounts sikaflexed... bit of vibration at idle but all seems good:cool:
new engine with my "all new" head/piston design survived a 200mile motorway run and a few sessions of upsetting bmw drivers ;)

PAS fitted and working prefectly fully adjustable from no pas to full pas

255 LPH walbro fuel pump fitted, fuel filter moved to engine bay.
new and much more modern disk type fuel Bosch fuel injectors fitted. 25 or so cc/min higher flowing (not needed at all) but MUCH faster reacting and MUCH better spray pattern(very fine and wide spray (12 nozzles per injector!)) . pain in the arse to fit but should be worth it as the old ones are pretty old/worn and the patterns where all over the place(n)

Grass autotest this sunday. should be a nice workout for the quafie (y)

had to refit the old injectors after a few issues i need to look into :(

event was a bit hit and miss.
quafie gave me a lot of traction but the steering is limited by the 6speed.... a lot! had to reverse on a test more then a couple of times on the event (even with using the diff to pull the front around!)

so it looks like my cento needs the rack spacers removing... wheels spaced out... which might lead to arches need widening (im not complaining)

What's an approssimative cost of the megasquirt baby?

I have a Punto (mk1, 75, 1242 mpi) and would like to put there a turbo one day, and I'm making a list of what is needed... In my car I have also a lpg system, that's a good and bad thing at same time (I can play with jetting like on a megasquirt by using a pc, but only on lpg). Is standard electronics replacing really needed?

not to sure on prices now. ms2 might of come down now that ms3 is out.

megasquirt would be able to control both fuel types.

love to lpg mine as its a great fuel for turbos (its very clean and wont cause det at high boost)

looking at those pics the injectors are completly wrong for the fuel rail you may be using assuming the rail was designed for the other injectors.

The end will sit far to far away from the combustion chamber so the very fine spray will not be working correctly. Injectors are very sensative to this & those injectors are fitted very close to the combustion chamber.

You would be better getting original injectors cleaned & flow tested.
