First things first - let me just say, i didnt buy this product for the tyre
I actually brought it for the alloy, as i have new rubber waiting to go on - see my other thread

However the add is for an alloy with the tyre on

However - the tyre provided is that poor and illegal....

The cracking on the sidewall is bad, cracks on the tread is deep and dangerous and to top it off there is a nasty bulge in it :(

The add says to check for kerbing and tread - pictures are fine for the front and tread but its the back of tyre.... where there was no pictures....

So lets see what the seller has to say
I dont know to have a full return and refund, or a partial refund - £20 sound fair?

Ziggy

Edit - noted as well several kerb marks which aren't visible on the picture, one is quiet large, i'll show you there picture vs mine and i think im going to plead this item is defective - i want a refund
@ £60 for it, im not happy :(

WHat did the advert say about the tyres? I often see alloys sold with tyres on but the tyres aren't legal. Did the advert say they were all good condition and legal or just that the wheels came with tyres on?

As for kerbing, if it wasnt pictured and the seller didn't mention it then you have grounds for return. I doubt the wheel to be defective though because of a bit of kerbing.

Post up the link to the ad so we can see.

The seller is vague about the condition of the tyre but doesn't say it is scrap, just that it comes with the wheel. In that case I would have enquired about the condition before purchasing, but regardless, you have a case for a refund imo..

Their conditions at the bottom state "All Parts Guaranteed For 90 Days (Unless otherwise agreed in writing) If any part supplied by ourselves proves to be faulty during this period, it may be returned to us to exchange. If no exchange is available within 48 hours a refund will be given."

The tyre supplied is faulty so if you intended to use the wheel with that tyre then I would send if back and get a refund. If you have another tyre (as I think you have said) to use, then as long as the wheel is as described, I would just take it on the chin and get the new tyre fit.

Maybe contact them and ask for a partial refund saying that you need them to cover the cost of the new tyre (about £40 for a budget I would guess) as the pictures show the tyre with good tread and there is no mention of it being beyond use. Send them the pictures you have posted here too.

well when i've questioned that there is kerbing marks that aren't photographed on his side that are present whats arrived to me

He's now claimin that he i've damaged it, and not eligible for a refund, this is turning sour very very fast..... i thin paypal / ebay guarentee are going to have to interveen

Sorry too hear that,

when ive sold alloys in the past, ive always listed them as Tyres are Scrap
no matter how good they look or how much tread,

you shouid always treat secound hand tyres as scrap,
as you dont know if the car they came off is/was written off,

you can see and check a tyre condition on the outside but what about the inside,

they dont think of this and sell it as good, secound hand tyre sales shouid be outlawed,

I'd just put in a claim and let paypal deal with and insist he lays on a corrier to collect as you're not paying for his crap to be returned to him

In addition £60 for one wheel seems a bit steep especially as the tyre looks pretty worn out in the pictures without the side wall damage taken into account

By law an item has to be fit for purpose, if your selling a wheel and tyre it has to be usable as a wheel and tyre. Also you have special protection for anything sold on the internet (called distance selling) contact trading standards if EBay don't help you. Many people would not know as much as you and may have fitted that tyre and had an accident. I don't see how you do that damage in the time you have had it.

well the seller is a complete and UTTER :tosser::tosser:

He says its clearly NOT his

Yea i should maybe find that exact patch picture it and say look - marks even match up! on the tyre tread - as i said it wasn't the tyre i was after, it was the alloy, but pictures "looks like its mint" hence i brought it
But the actual item is ****e....

trouble is you cant say paypal HELP - till 8 days later....

Another 8 days of running on winters eh

Hes a trader
that tyre is illegal to sell like that
he risks big problems if you report him
my breaker has been warned jail if convicted selling any tyre showing cords
that tyre clearly would on the shoulder
the carbuncle is disgraceful obviously come off an accident damaged car
reject fully
take it all the way
i wont use this seller again and i have previously
bad taste
and you have too much money paying 60 notes

Yea i wish i double checked - hes a 99% seller, i seem to have hit the crap 1%

Nothing matches :( and i just feel me been conned yet again

Ziggy

not your fault, ive been conned loads of times on ebay'.
50% of the time igot my money back, its a waiting game on paypal's side,

ive noticed nowadays you carnt realy leave bad feed back like you couid at one stage,

ihad a dispute afew weeks back, seller took the money and refused to send item
paypal issued a refund ebay took away the option for me to leave feedback,
they side with traders, thats my view on it anyway,

alloys normaly fetch 40notes plus 20 odd courrier fee so idont think your mad buying it at that price, being lied to by a seller is a differnt matter,

dont give up, keep on at ebay until they refund, (y)

u can file a paypal and ebay dispute, they will refund u in full including shipping cost

Well ebay settled it 50/50

So ive only paid £30 in total now

I've had a crack at the bad score around the edge, and i've managed to carefully fold it back in using a sander, it aint looking bad :)
got other chips and marks to sort still

But its looking ALOT better, just need to find a near colour match

Stilo Steel Grey is looking like a possibility tho,
