Well i bought the car!! :D

Its sitting outside. Everything works fine and the sunroof reset worked, which allowed the interior blind to be shut!!

I tell you what tho, it has all the toys.. checked the v5 and its an ex arnold clark rep car. Result!! :D

I'll get some pics up later in the week (backshift all week) when i clean it and get the interior all cleaned out.

Gonna get the stilo on cover on thursday!! Can't wait. Woohooo!!

Need a petrol cap cover.... best to get one from fiat and get it sprayed?

Also need to change the front drivers side fog light, I see from the guides I need to take the wheel arch out to change that?

Ross

Phoned fiat... £27 for a fuel cap cover

Anyone got a spare in any colour i could get? Or any idea of who may make them for cheaper...

Ross

Them flaps gone up in price since I had mine done ..not that I payed for it cos it was missing when I bought her :p..they are using a plastic hinge system on the flaps now and should not seize up..her in doors hinge was on its way and half seized when she put petrol in on Sunday and its a year old car and plastic hinges ..you guys need to get in there and give it a good spraying every once and a while..(y)

Fiat or scrap yard job only ross..

I'll try the local scrapyards first and if no luck i'll just buy one... although it will pain me!!

Ross

There are a few different types between the 5drs so make sure you state the year clearly if buy from a breaker other than Scotland..;)

Do you reckon people are going to get fed up with that constant grin on your face! :D

h2ypr got a great deal there and good luck to him (y)

It is indeed the time to buy, I won't be though, not after a bid of only £1600 for my JTD... even the brother in law thought it was a P*@S take but it is just a reflection of the state of the used car market at the mo... :(

Best to let the garages call you

I had an unexpected call from the dealer that sold me mine.

dealer: I'm calling you because you're on our books as someone who bought a car from us 3 years ago. Have you still got it?
me: Yep! You sold me a good motor :).
dealer: Thing is, we have someone here who is desperate to buy one. Would you be willing to sell it?
me: Nope.
dealer: What about if we could offer something newer?
me: Hmmm.... I'm a little fussy ....but if you had the right car I'd consider it.
dealer: What are you looking for?
me: Fiat Stilo mJet150. .... must be in silver .....and must have a sky-roof. .....Oh, and did I mention it also needs to be top of the range with all the extras.

I don't think it was one of his best sales calls that day :slayer: :D

Funny that, it were 58 plate delivery miles 1.6 Dynamic Sedici's @ 8K that led us to that P/X offer... not sure if I could live with 38 mpg again though (n)

Ok... had the stilo out and about since Thursday. a few things i have noticed.

Firstly, the mpg on screen that i'm getting is showing average of 34mpg after mixed driving. Not bad from what i have seen on here. However, manual calculation of miles against fill-up (due to do that on way to work) looks like it will be closer to 37-38mpg.

Secondly, even tho a scrap car may have airbags fitted and look the exact same as your stilo, it might not have the OCS sensor in the base cushion :(

Thirdly, not managed to get round to changing the front fogs yet, but it looks like a PITA. Will report back this week.

Fourthly, the car sometimes struggles to start. Usually you turn the key for 2-3 revolutions of the starter motor and it goes. Sometimes it sounds like its catching and when i let the key go it dies. So i have to hold the key round until i'm sure its going. Ideas?

Fifthly, sorry for no pictures but due to the airbag issue still annoying me, not cleaned the car properly yet.

Sixthly, the fuel cap flap still isnt fiited but i estimate its costed me around £60 to buy and get it sprayed.. :(

Any comments welcome.
