So since i kinda like the stilo i have and feel comfortable working on it i been looking at the JTD models. They are pretty cheap and seem to get exelent fuel economy. so i have been thinking about getting the 1.6 16v a friend.
So my question is what are some common promblems i should look for when going to look at one for sale? has been driven about 320 000km.

any other experinces or anything else about the JTD stilos would be also much apreciated!

The JTD (Jet Turbo Diesel) is a 1.9 diesel engine.

The 1.6 16v is a petrol engine.
I am sorry if i was not clear but i all ready have a 1.6 gasoline stilo and i would like to get it a "friend" so another stilo but that one with a diesel so thats why i am asking about what are the common problems to lookout for in 1.9 JTD stilos.
Attached is a picture of the gas one at the moment.

Pretty much a bullet proof engine, had two between them covered 400,000 miles.
Assuming you know about the rear axle bushes the only thing is the egr valve which I just used to blank off without any problems.

Does the plugging recuaire doing anything to the software of the car? What is there to know about the rear bushings?

Blanking off the egr didn't need any software changes on my two Stilo's, Its such an easy job and reversible in 10 minutes so worth doing.

The rear axle bushes can be a real pain done both my cars one I did twice first one took a few days, once I new what to do I had it down to a few hours but not an easy job.

I loved the car great fun to drive and very nippy.

Have a read here this is my original post when I first tackled the rear bushes, I would also check they are still available to buy.

And the egr blanking is here.

Just to add to the above, do not buy 'cheap' bushes, use quality items say Febi for instance.
