Things you hate on cars

Things you hate on cars

dunno if I actually hated it or not but I had a guy behind me in a van a few weeks ago, one of these estate car based things with an enclosed back so he had a solid bulkhead behind the drivers/ passengers seats and he had covered it with a huge blowup of a topless 'page three' type shot. Now that must be a menace, you look in your rear view mirror, what the...!!? you look again just to make sure you really saw that BANG you're into the car in front! I mean how many cars has this guy seen smashed up in front of him?
now surely if the police can pull you for having daft spacing on your chav numberplate, there must be rules about that.

going back to the jap car thing, I had a micra, loved it to bits, I'd have another one tomorrow if I had half a chance,:worship::worship:

No its not! thats a crap analogy, its completely different.
a similar one would be - spraying your bumper or colouring it in with a felt tip pen - effectively achieving the same desired effect, with one just being cheaper and nastier than the other.
They are using a technique to produce a suede effect finish.

In order to reduce glare, fair enough if your rallying it you don't give a dam what it looks like, your merely trying to avoid glare, in which case terry towling would be a cheaper option.
But many use it as a "styling" option, in which case its refering back to my point about cheapening modifications.

I agree as styling thing if you want suede effect dash it should be suede. All I was saying was that in a purely functional interior it makes no odds as to how its achieved if the car is pretty much a rolling shell anyway. Perhaps people with flocking look down on those with terry towling as you do on those with flocking.

Also what is it with people who own white micras? :D

our handbreak is jammed on and now unmovable till summer since ground will be too soft

why the hell did you leave the handbrake on?

they always seize on if you do steadies down chock the wheels release the brake and it ain't going anywhere

grease the 3 nipples (assuming its an alko chassis) and smother the cable ends in grease

it was great fun, it flew around country lanes. Micra rule and you all know it. get over it.

The white one in the photo I posted belonged to mate it was a surprisingly rapid car for a 1.3 could nearly run with my 85 also did an indicated 120 one donny weekend. Couldn't kill it with a stick but not a car I would have owned..mainly because it was lowered had a cat back exhaust, competition discs and pads, induction. The effect was about as comfortable as riding a meteorite but it was a proper back road tool.

I think same mentality same applies to any bog standard car a 1.9d pug 206 for example or its modern equivalent you look at it and know that the only thing in that persons mind when they bought it new was i'll save a few quid by getting one with wheeltrims, black plastic bumpers. I.e. that person doesn't care about cars and therefore i'm not going to park next to them because they'll probably crease my door while getting into their car and think nothing of it.

Wasn't really my point...

Don't think you're quite getting the point, you'd need to live here to see it
People here think Japanese cars > everything else. They will buy a low spec, unreliable ****BOX and assume that because its got a Jap brand name on the front, it must be great. The fact that the second biggest Jap brand here is French owned never seems to have sunk in...

Best is when they start trying to lecture you on reliability and mention "its only broken down once". I've *never* been let down by any of Panda's in 150,000km. Most of the japcrap smug-heads have been in the same time frame...

I saw that earlier I assume he's talking about what looks like an black MR2 halfway up the windscreen...obviously fitted to the car behind.

i thought it was funny :D You must just be really slow and bad at teh internets.

aww :( my next car is gonna be a nissan i think.... will it be ok if i debadge it?

:yeahthat:

Beard was funny. Mikeee 'failed' by not getting the joke
Thank you people. Mikeee failed to notice or appreciate the self deprecating irony.

sometimes the cd player bit in them can annoy me

especially if its a newish car and its got a removable one... such as kias, hyundais etc .. at least there moving away from that now :D

my dad's had two civics, both had problems. His first was 1.6vtec about 6 years ago which just died for no apparent reason (and honda say they've never had a vetc fault ), and the second one was a new shape 2.2 i-cdti diesel which needed something doing with the injectors/ common rail or something like that at 3 month old (n)
