The main road through our village, this afternoon -- after it had stopped raining. A few of the roads around the village are under several feet of water -- (i) because of the rain; (ii) because local streams and rivers have burst their banks, swamping local fields, etc.; and (iii) because the local pumping station is so overwhelmed, the water board have had to bring in large, portable pumps -- which appear just to move the flooding from one area to another....

Got home from work at lunch to find Piccolo Blu has moved under its own steam for the first time in 6 months
This was something unexpected I encountered on my journey a few days after the storm....(and yes I did drive under it)
Can't say I'd have been driving under it personally.

The storm was 2-3 days earlier so it'd been like that since so seemed fairly safe, but I totally understand you, it was scary...
