Technical Starting problems??????? Please help

mk2, punto 1.2, 2000, this problem is intermittent when the key is turned the engine sounds like it wants to start but for some reason will not.:bang: i have taken the plugs out and they are good and gapped right. i know its a case of fault finding but if this has happened to anyone before or is a common fault your help will be very welcome as fault finding can get very expensive

I had a similar problem with intermittent starting...mines no longer intermittent...it just won't bloody start

Just fitted new plugs as the old ones were pretty manky (https://www.fiatforum.com/punto/250112-punto-not-starting.html). Not done the trick

Search the forum for how to test things like plugs, leads, coils. Next step might be to get a kkl lead hooked up with a laptop and see whether the ECU has recorded anything to help. It will at least let you see whether most of the sensors are behaving.

thanks for that red i will give it a try lets hope the problem happens when i have it plugged in
