Should this be introduced?

LOL notice you want your car seen but not your reg plate!...its a large reflective item on the front of your car perhaps your car would be more visible if you wiped it now and again!

O you've noticed that, the Police haven't yet:D and neither have camera's! I'll clean my lights but not my plates! (Naughty I know, but what can they do? Hardly a safety feature:p)

if you can't see a car in broad daylight because it hasn't got its lights on then I think you probably shouldn't be on the road in the first place.

You can see alot in broad daylight, but there are many different cercumstances in which headlights on would help.

Not broad daylight... low sun conditions where all you can see is glare from the blazing sun infront of you.

well then you would put your lights on in that situation, however that doesn't mean you have to drive around with your lights on everyday 24/7.

You ever had the sun high in the sky, bounce into your eyes off of a window of another car or another metalic object?

yeah, but usually lasts about a milisecond, nothing you say is going to convince me to drive around with my sidelights etc.. on during the daytime unless I deem it necessary.

Pull you over, fine you, etc.

It's exactly for people like you that DRLs need introducing

Like SeicentoS said, there is nothing you can say to possibly persuade me to turn my lights on unnecessarily. If this item is such a safety issue on our roads then why haven't we heard of many major debates? Or police warnings? There are alot more pressing road safety issues I can think of.

Again, if you cannot see a car in daylight you shouldn't hold a driving licence, and therefore causing a danger to me on the road.

SHOCKING, SHOCKING, Unbelevable..... If the police said turn them on would you....Yes, so lets pretend they say turn them on, problem solved...
So next time i pass you your lights will be on ??? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

What a stupid argument, if the police told you to do alot of things i'm sure you would do it. I'll bear it in mind next time the police stop me in broad daylight and tell me to turn my lights on.

I know, lets pretend the police told you never to drive down a certain road, I bet I would never see you on it.

So you are using a hypothetical situation that wouldn't happen to solve an argument you are trying your hardest to win? ;)

No Need to win, i live in Norwy now, where you DO have to have your lights on 24/7 and they have a proven lower crash level since the lights on was intreduced, so.....i win i win i win i win i win i win, ha ha ha ha ha........(y)(y)(y):D:D(y)(y)(y):D(y)(y):D(y)(y)

No hard feelings...(y)

Your happy with 24/7 lights, I'm happy not putting them on in the daylight.

Everyones a winner! ;)

why then? I turn them on when its dark... when visibility is low etc... I don't need a computer to tell me when to turn them on and I don't need automatic lights. Some of us can function in this life without something/someone telling us how to constantly do something.

yes, but unfortunately many people these days are so bored with life that they take pleasure telling others what to do. Its a sad fact of today, and it seems to be the very young that are mostly at fault... remember the negotiator, c. watson and the like:(?
go sign the Jeremy Clarkson for PM petition!

People these days seem to think everybody likes to be treated like idiots, which funnily enough, they don't.

I choose to have my dipped beam on at all times, but I will say that the more people do this, the less effective it will be. It does make a car more visible, but doesnt help judge speed and distance.

I dread the day driving becomes a "sit in and go" experience with no input from the driver.

I hate the Nanny State.

I love my freedom to drive :yum:

I drive safely and never speed :D that why I got a 1.9 GPS (y)

Stop trying to legislate for everything... Power to the People! :slayer:

Pull you over, fine you, etc.

They can pull you over and make you aware of the fact that your number plate is dirty, and can even make you clean it there and then (I have baby wipes in the car:D) but they can't fine you because its a reoccouring problem which isn't avoidable!

What do you define as 'low visabitiys etc'?
