cheers :)

the side skirts are bugging me, they'll be painted black next week. if they wern't faded id say it was hiding its age pretty well imo :)

strangely, it's even started running fairly sweetly since the temperature increased..electrical problem aside its not a million miles away from how im wanting it to be now, just with subtle mods really :)

i was gnna say mate i know it sounds a bit retarded :) but the brake bulb thing do you have a single filament bulb in it instead of a dual filament as this would cause the result youre giving as i have done it before on the old brava :D

Nope, the bulbs dual filament. The same as is working nicely in the passenger side because i swapped the bulbs over to try them :) but nae joy :( It was working fine until i took the chav lights off. Ive changed the bulb, light wiring, bulb holder and light unit itself so i know the highest the problem can be is the lights plug. I think its an earth tho, the number plate lights are sometimws different brightnesses and are reluctant to work together

what can i say, but, ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cars been broken into, radio stolen, window smashed, waiting on police coming now :( :( :( :(

still waiting for the police, it was reported near 2 hours ago, now i have rain pissing into the car and im apparently not even allowed to cover the gap until the police have looked at it.

i have nae money to repair it on me, i cant afford to lose my no claims (if a break in counts as a claim, which im sure it will)

basicly, if i lose my no claims, either the calibra or the cinq will have to go. at my age, i cant afford to run a group 14 car and a highly modified cinq on no ncb :(

im thinking very much worst case scenario

best case, i have to pay theft excess and i dont lose ncb, it will mean the cinq is just delayed a month as it puts a small hole in the parts.

either way, its a barrel of shite and im absolutley raging!

You can get a new window put in without losing your no claim just need to pay the excess. This happened to me on my cinq :( .

Just don't claim for the cd player. Buy one cheap second hand to keep you going.

Pure ****s for doing **** like this!

yeah, i was just reading the book, seems that may be the case, shame i have a silly excess even for glass.

best thing is, it was a cheap cd player anyway, if they sold it at the pub, they'd get no more than about 25-30 for it :( not really worth their effort tbh.

and id just got tunes back in the car aswell!!

scumbags, did you get the car sorted in the end? she's a good looking motor, i'll say that! maybe get her to sit on her arse a bit more, the one problem i have with calibras is that the rear arches are HUUUUUUUUGE, once the cavalier is done we should get a photoshoot going lol

Cheers :) i actually quite like how it sits at the back now :) i think it sits just right, the angle of the photos sometimes makes it look a bit high, but in the flesh it is better imo. i think a photoshoot is definitley in order! :D

yeah, i got a window from the scrappys and fitted it. i would have lost my ncb for insurance it turns out as ii would have had to claim it as a theft :( luckily there was one calibra in all the scrappys in dundee and its window was ok, so i went and got it. its taken ages to get all the glass out the car, even now i think i have, i can guarantee ill be finding shards for months :(

more mods are coming now, windows are getting tinted next week i think. this is more for security than anything else, the film will act like a laminate and prevent access to the car, so im going for a light smoke all round (except the windscreen of course)

and exhaust, that cali in the scrappys has a lovely S/S exhaust on it, i will be having that! :D

Electrics will be sorted this week too, hids will be fitted at the same time, i cant be bothered plastering with the negative wire in such a tight space

forgot to add this pic from arbroath, lol, teh side skirts are now proper black, this was the pic that made me sort the horrible faded plastic out

Indeed a tidy car that. But IMO modding two cars (unless 2 the same or something) just won't work as one only has no much time/effort/money for it!

Like bit and pieces might be cheaper for vaux, but it often adds up real quick!

the calibra isnt far off what i would consider finished tbh, im not doing anything mechanical to it unless the engine goes pop or something, in which case id be tempted to drop a v6 in.

this whole incident however HAS had an affect on me for the cinq plans. its not a money problem, its that i dont want to spent all that time and money on the cinq only for some knob to come and do that to it. id be near suicidal if that happened, lol. i just wonder if its all worth it at times :(

You probably know you will never get your money back. But don't let them get to you, you don't want your action to depends on these scum bags!

This exact same thing happened to my mini as well! Know the feeling, just do what you can to avoid this from happening again.

I mean you could walk out at night and get mugged, what you going to do next, not leave the house?

Stay positive mate.

Crap about the car being broken into, though glad you managed to source a replacement window. One of the problems with having to park your car on the street though I guess. Had a similar issue when the Stilo was damaged a few years back - happened with the stormy weather at one of the New Years. Don't know if it was vandalism or the weather, but either way I lost my NCB :(

yeah, i'd say the cally is near perfect, but imo, they need a small spoiler to finish off the rear of them. aye, tis a real nice motor matey

thing is, this isnt the first time ive had problems, its been minor things before like wipers getting snapped off, paintwork keyed, unreported scuffs, mirrors getting kicked off etc. since ive had the calibra, thats the mirror getting kicked, the bootlid keyed, the tyre sidewall getting stabbed by a screwdriver and now broken into, window smashed and stereo nicked. what's next? its just getting too much tbh. i dont want the cinq to be the next victim. although that will probably stay garaged like is atm, but it will have to spend sometime outside my house). if they knew what was done to it roughly, it'd be gone within 2 hours i think.

i repaired the calibra quickly and im making it better yet as an act of defiance. at the end of the day though, theres far less riding on that than the cinq. all the money i put into that, all the effort and time it will take. why should i gove some prick the satisfaction of damaging it? why should i spend well upwards of £2000 modifying it only to need to spend another £500 repairing damage done by some random or losing insurance bonuses?

i know il never get back what i put into the cinq regardless, but at this moment, i have my doubts if i want to put all that iin only for it to be ruined by some junkie or random. that'd just be heartbreaking.
