it was running perfectly before the timing belt snapped though, i'm not really sure why the sensor would die because of the belt
im just going by the fact theres zero change in engine running when two plugs are taken off leads me to think 2 plugs are totally sooted up, they are sparking fine via the coil and end of the leads and were perfect before the belt snap too, that leads me to it being a physical issue like the plugs
if the two on one coil arent working but theres spark going two them, after the belt snapping given they are on the same spark cycle, they may just be the unlucky ones to have got a dump of fuel that never burnt off cleanly
might aswell just check all the things that are there atm before i replace random parts
had thought of crank though, initially thought timing or the pulley nipple not being locked onto the crank properly giving a weird signal, took out crank sensor and cleaned today after checking timing and re-tensioning belt yesterday....no change.
oddly, it was struggling to start and stay alive today, it would start with a hard rev but cut out on return to idle, after a few revs held, it never cut out again for the rest of the attempts, maybe that adds to the theory of plugs if they burnt some soot off with the revs? i'll find out i suppose when i remove them
