Technical Problem with the Iveco 8140.43S engine,

If its happening with both programs then something is most lightly borked with the framework. First try the repair tool I linked earlier if that doesn't work try the .net cleanup tool to clean out and reinstall 3.5 version of the framework.

If its still not working run chkdsk on ypur disk and open an administrator command prompt and run system file checker by typing sfc /scannow.

OK done the sfc /scannow, click here to see the file it produced, and here to see the screenshot for chkdsk

It's all way over my head now.

Hi Kev,
I'm no PC expert BUT - managed to get the MES ( FIAT SCAN is the same but older) free version working fine,

you'll need a driver for the KKL lead - free off the web,
there is no great secret as far as I've seen,

BUT look on the MES site to make sure you're van IS covered properly, as OBD for VAN's happened a few years AFTER the 2002
CAR launch

You have to schedule chkdsk to run at boot like so:

chkdsk /x /f /r
Y

Do that next .. can take a long time depending on the age of your computer, size of your disk and number of errors if any.

I took a look at your log file it says your jit compiler for .net has the wrong hash that can be a sign of infection or just corruption or simply wrong version due to failed windows update etc.

Download the .Net framework repair tool and run it follow the instructions:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-IE/download/details.aspx?id=30135

If after running the tool and rebooting it still doesn't work try reinstalling Framework 3.5 by running:

"%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5\setup.exe" /qb /norestart

For your own sake I would run another full virus scan too try the free housecall scanner from trendmicro its a useful free one that includes a hijackthis scan.

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

is "%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microso ft .NET Framework 3.5\setup.exe" /qb /norestart

with the quote at the beginning and the spaces too, I know there should be a space before each /

Also how do I get to where I can do this.

this might be easier over the phone you know, you have a PM.

Cheers Charlie, Could you post some links please to where MES? is and the KKL lead driver.

here the MES homepage;
http://www.multiecuscan.net/

was this where you downloaded the FREE version (2.5)

worth having a look in the "Supported Vehicles" list, to see what it actually does on your age of vehicle - the listing will be for the start date of that series of ECU - i.e. a 2002 punto will say 1999, etc

vagcom / KKL lead driver, just google it..!!, (y)

TBH - your issue sounds like the FREE version isn't on your machine correctly,
maybe remove and download again,
doublecheck the set-up requirements from MES homepage ( in link),

to answer your question about LOCAL help, ;)
say HI in the "Yorkshire Italia" Club section of FF,

No spaces before the slashes and nospace in Microsoft thats a typo. You have to use quotes where there's a space in a path such as Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5.

Remove the space in Microsoft and paste into an administrator command prompt including the quotes.

I'm not getting how you do the above, where do I type it, and how do I get to the place to type it?

I'm no puter expert as you can see, so you need to WALK me through it, from A to Z, and I fully understand that is a pain, but the instructions are beyond my talents.

Kev.

Well, what a day, a friend who is an IT guru, advised a few changes to the laptop, which resulted in the whole of C: drive being wiped, the changes coincided with a System update and MS couldn't handle the confusion :mad: Anyway it's a Lenovo lappy and has a one key recovery system, which actually worked and restored windows (but nothing else) so we have a clean install of windows so I though now was as as good a time as any to try FiatECUScan, so it's back on and running, going to get the multiecuscan too while I can.

Thanks all for the tremendous help, odd it should have been so difficult but proves it was my system after all for some reason.

Kev.

That's about the worst possible thng an 'it guru' can do I wouldn't be calling him again.

True but it was the combination of his changes happening while windows did an update, we did the same changes after it was running again and nothing happened, this bloke works UK wide solving silly problems for large companies, he has never seen this happen before.

Main thing is most important stuff is in the cloud, and it's all running sweet like a brand new PC.(y)

Right back to the other problem of the steering shake.

Cam belt etc and all engine mountings changed to day, wobble and shake have now moved to around 40mph (from 30) before starting.

So, Wheels have been balanced, tyres are all good, no run out or ovality/ovalness Pressures are OK too.

There is the hint of a bit of play top/bottom 12 & 6 o clock on the nearside wheel, but none left to right 3 & 9 o clock. Offside is fine, discs look ok with wheels off, no obvious fault with the discs.

I'm in favour of booking it in to a garage which does MOTs, and just getting the front end checked out properly.

Anything else I could check?

Change the tyres. Really, just change the front tyres.

Hi, Sorry had family troubles for a while.

OK not swapped wheels yet will do it today, we went to Driffield about 60 miles at the weekend, still got the wobble at 35-45 mph, also had chance to wind it up a bit now it has a new cam belt, and below 50mph it was pointless going for 5th gear, it just bogged down even on a level road, and ideas or suggestions, still not got the OBD thing working, as have PC problem, this is done on a tablet.

By heck this is getting drawn out a bit, still have issues with rellies, but had a bit of time to get the wheels and tyres swapped back to front etc, shimmy/wobble is still there at the same speeds.

Mech said perhaps try an on vehicle wheel balance might just sort it as he think poss one of the drive shafts, not sure if this is a good idea or not, are drive shafts that expensive.

On the software side I've had no luck sorting this puter at all, hdd is stuffed so bought a WD 1tb drive and it won't install now, this one still works, but I've resurrected an old PB lappy to try the ecu scanner, it has win 7 on it but heck tis a slow old beast, so I have to be patient and not go mad clicking stuff.
