002 Front brake disc in such a condition that it is seriously weakened [3.5.1i]
Advisory Items.
003 Back box in poor condition.
I had pre empted the failure and the car had a full service while
it was with my indy anyway. I supplied all the parts and sundries,
NGK spark plugs, OEM oil, air and pollen filter, Pagid front discs and pads
ATE Super blue racing brake fluid. And Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil.
Paid £180 all in for the service, brake fluid service and disc and pad
change and the MOT itself and just over £110 for the parts and materials.
Considering Fiat wanted to charge me £250 for a service and a further
£40 for the MOT I 'm very happy with the price I paid as I got the brakes
overhauled and changed for the same money.
Brake fluid has never been changed since the car was new and Mrs grr
reported on her way home that the brakes felt sharper which bodes well
as the new discs and pads aren't bedded in at all yet.
The Pagid stuff is great in my experience, when the discs and pads need
doing on my car I'll be buying Pagid (My front discs are 345mm vented
and rears 310mm vented.) Not least because the discs are painted
and the service areas of the brake discs are cleaned of paint
after a few applications whereas the non service areas remain painted
and going by the last set I had will be resistant to rust for at least a
year and a half. That's good. I wash my cars a lot. I've also taken
the Pagid discs and pads on the track at Castle combe on my last car
and they did a great job under some very heavy and repeated braking.
Anyhoo, back on topic. All passed now with just the advisory for back box
remaining and it will be going in for a custom stainless cat back system to
ensure this won't be an issue again.
