Very nice mate! I really like the fine details. I feel in a few cases people have been voting because of stickers etc, but this chop is to a very high standard and if it wins, its not because of the decals. :)

I think this week will be close with a high degree of skill from all.

them playboy bunnies seems to be a fave with the ladies (dont understand y considering what playboy is lol),seen a few lasses with them on their motors. should stick a few of them on, then paste sum topless ladyess in to!

In fact could go the whole hog and put hugh heffner in the drivers sit puffin on a cigar lol, but that would just be silly.

Yeah i wasn't sure about putting any decals on at all, because i didn't want them to hide any of the work that i had done, and like you say joe, decals attract votes which also made me not want to put them on.

I would rather the car won on it's design and shape and quality of work, but it was crying out for some colourful decals and it looks really bare if i take them off.
Also people don't seem to vote on the finer details of the chops, they look for the weirdest things when the vote and suprisingly tend to vote for the weird designs just for the sake of it, rather than the best overall.

What do you recon, leave em on ?

It's not like it's a cop out if you have stickers because it's a job in itself, trying to get them to look realistic. But i don't want to overdo it.

I agree they suit what your doing, and like you say you havnt over done it.

I was thinkin about putting sum graphics on but decided not, its my first full chop and dont want to over work it. Im just gonna finish off making it look right 2nite then leave it. Other wize it will look like a charva car thats drove through halfrauds and had every bolt on part you can imagine!

Heres my latest one! Got rid of a few decals, such as the word lexus! The rear door, dorr handles and rub strips have gone too!

There all looking good. I've been trying to resist the temptation of losing the rear doors, but I may have to, because the rear arch has made the rear door line very silly on mine, but I'm still trying to think of alternate solutions, because I don't want people to think that I always remove rear doors.

I've been resisting the temptation to use decals, for a few reasons. One, I don't want to be at risk of winning, although that's possibly not an issue anyway. Two, I don't think it would add to my photoshop skills. Three, it would be very difficult to do them to a standard that I would be happy with, because the writing, etc. would have to follow every contour of the car, which in many cases, I've noticed other people's don't and the alternative of only putting decals on flat surfaces of the vehicle, doesn't really appeal to me.

you doing well to resist the rear door removal. the shape of the car really lends itself to that. think my car is finished its early but im happpy with it. few other possible things i thought of i dont like once i done them lol so i took em out. only thing i have done since me last pic wich i did like was to change the angle of the center pillar slightly. so here is me final pic my is300 2+2 gt sounds more impressive than coupe :D yours for £39,999

Nice, Isn't that a similar colour to the Focus you did.

Here's a minor update to mine. A few bits done, more work on the light on the front grill area, darkened the tinting on the lights, slightly desaturated the whole car so that the colour of the reflections, whilst negligable anyway, is slightly more realistic, and a little detail added to the side on the rear arch.

Edit: oh yeah and I changed the shape of the mirrors and door handles, don't think I had done that prior to the last update.

Neo, i'm not trying to be critical here, i'm just curious.
Why do you feel the need to change the whole shape of every car that you modify ?
Last weeks was probably the most drastic change of all as a Tigra was completely changed into a renault/porche.
The one thing i notice about your car this week is that the roof has been dropped down, obviously to give it that more menacing look.

Do you just not like the idea of modding within the constraints of what is realistically possible ?

Personally i think the point of this, and the main reason we have a different car each week, is to modify that car to look it's best within the cars design limits.
Not to actually change the car to something completely different.
It's like pasting a picture of your favourite car over the top of the challenge car.
This may be just my opinion and like i say i'm just curious because in general you do change the car so much from it's actual shape.
This is also not to say i dislike your work as i have myself voted for you on a couple of occasions.

Well, firstly you can't really say that anything I do isn't really possible, it would just take more time and money. I had a mate who had a Mini and he had the roof chopped, so that the windows were only 6 inches high, which looked cool, but wasn't very confortable if you were a passenger.

The main reason that I usually end up changing the shape is that I'm trying to create something that I think looks nice and, if I don't think the original car looks nice, then nothing I do to the outside of it is going to change that. For that reason I usually prefer my own designs to other people's, because I'm creating something that is unique to my taste, that said I don't think mine are the best, just the one's that appeal more to my taste. I appreciate that the idea is to do modifications that you might see on a car on the road or at a show, but since we are not likely to own the cars with the custom kits we create for them, then surely the most important thing is to improve our creative and artisitc ability and to improve our photoshop skills.

If people would rather I didn't enter my chops for the final vote, I don't have a problem with that, because that would at least avoid the possibility of me winning, but the votes I do get are nice, because it means that some people appreciate the work I have done. I realise that I am not strictly within the parameters of the challenge, depending on how you interpret them, so not entering the voting would be acceptable to me.

I think more of an issue is that more of the entries seem to be following my trend of shape changing, which might make the people who were willing to overlook my transgressions a little less likely to overlook things.

At the end of the day I do this for my enjoyment and my development. I certainly don't want to upset anyone by what I do, but I wouldn't want to do something that I didn't enjoy doing and creating something that I don't like, I wouldn't enjoy.
