I'd like to buy a set of nuts, bolts and washers of various sizes. From M8-M12 with various lengths. The job lots i've seen all look quite expensive, so i'm thinking there must be somewhere you can buy a lot for not much, given each bolt costs pennies, if that.

Where do you get your nuts/bolts?

I don't mean mission critical bolts, for the head or suspension etc. Just multi-usage ones.

We used to have a guy who started off driving around workshops supply stuff like that, he then got premises and called it the Screw Shop, selling to quite large companies doing well. I lost touch with him after that , but learnt he had sold it on and I found that another company acquired the stock and still supplies to the trade and public in our area.
We also have a farm supplies company called Mole Valley Farmers and they usually have a good stock of nuts, bolts, washers etc. in many sizes.
So if you ask some of your local workshops they may be able to advise who supplies in your area.

Screwfix Toolstation ect and buy pack of each size?
That's a good idea, i'll take a look.

I've just remembered that there is a nuts and bolts workshop not too far away, i went there once when i was hard pressed to find a particular thread size. I don't think they have much on their website but I could go to the shop and do a job lot purchase.

Accu is good, for work we use them for all nuts and bolts.

B&Q is common for me too, usually because they are open when things go wrong at the weekend and you need something quickly.
