nice one for your first chop i liek teh face on front.

and to the guy with teh bonnetnice work on engine.

neo yeah it did end up simalry colour to me focus allthough that was more greeny this one is green/goldy. the colours just come by accident to me i just ckeep changing till i see something i like and this one was it. later i woud of prefered darker i think but couldnt be assed as i quiet liked as it was. i also altered teh roof line of mine but also i like to keep mine to be part of the normal car range. how ever yours neo are major work you must spend hours on yours more than me to get all that modding done. they allways impress me. i think everyone on here as a different style to there modding and that is great if we all done same wouyld be boring so big up to all the entrants and let the voters decide what they liek most.

christ im 29 and using term "big up" somethinsg not right. lol

Excellent first chop Sei03.

Don't worry Fishdude, I'm 36 this year and still use loads of "today" expressions, but I refuse with certain things, like I'm not going to use the word sick to mean cool, that's just abusing the wonderful and intricate language we share.

thanx for all your comments, im pleased with it i think. The most ive ever done b4 is smooth and take out door handles on seicentos. This is the 1st time ive attempted colour change, and adding bumbers, lights, ect.

I think its good to keep all the chops different too. I agree to an extent about not completley changing the car, but cant comment to much as havnt really seen many other examples. Aint really been using the forum that long.

Like i said guys I was just curious as to why Neo sticks to that certain style of modding, and he's answered that.

I wasn't telling him or asking him to change his style.

I certainly wasn't implying that you shouldn't enter the vote Neo.

It would be silly for all the cars to look the same and I for one like to see the different styles. This challenge is more about challenging ourselves not each other, the vote is there purely as an incentive to do a better job IMO and to incourage you to enter a chop.

I appolagise if what i said was taken as a dissing because that was not my intent.

I was simply trying to figure out the reasoning behind Neo's, shall I say personal taste in chops, to my own taste.

:peace:

Perfectly fair question IMO, I agree that with these challenges it’s really an anything goes type of thing. The different variations that people produce make the competition more enjoyable.

I like to think that when the Photoshop section is finally set up, we will be able use more specific rules for each challenge and have a few challenges running at the same time. ATM we only have one challenge running at a time, and if we said that the final piece must have a similar shape to the original, I doubt people such as neo will enter. For now, we must let anything + everything go, if the voters like the final images let it be.

Now I have been practising virtual modding for a while and used various techniques, I know that it takes alot more skill to improve a car using constraints. This is why I personally don't vote for cars that have any resemblance to the original. (This is not a criticism of you neofolis; I know you have alot of talent with Photoshop.) This is just my opinion about the whole virtual modding concept.

I have noticed that the same question comes up every week 'what are we voting for? I think that everyone should vote for his or her own reasons. This makes the poll fairer and gives everyone a chance.

It's OK KoA, I thought my reply sounded a little aggresive/defensive whatever. I know you worded your question in a purely curious way, I just couldn't be arsed to make my wording any more diplomatic, which was probably wrong as you had made the effort to do just that.

Anyway the answer was accurate aside from the lack of diplomacy and I still love your work and the work of everyone who enters really, it's great to see such a diverse design team.

I have to be honest, if I owned these cars and had unlimited budget then I would change the bodies in similar ways to the way I mod them, but it's a pointless scenario, because, if I had the budget, I wouldn't be buying those cars. I have been trying to avoid copying and pasting from other images recently to avoid the scenario of just pasting a Ferrari over a Ford or whatever, so I have been trying, as far as my ability allows, to do everything either through my own artisitic additions or through manipulation of the original image. I guess that is irrelevant, if, as in the case of the previous challenge, it still looks like Ferrari front end pasted on.

I think what I need to focus on is making bits that I change more original, rather than influenced by other vehicles, so that it doesn't look like things have been pasted from other vehicles. As mentioned in the past, I lack a little creative flair, but I think that there is a good chance that I will continue to change the shape of the vehicles, because I really couldn't put much effort into an end product that I wouldn't like and I am incredibly fussy about my likes and dislikes. That said, if anyone ever hosts a vehicle that I like the shape of, then I probably wouldn't feel the need to make such dramatic changes.

I know you didn't mention the not entering my chops, it's just that there have been comments made by people in the past about my shape changing antics and I thought it might be a better way to keep everyone happy. I'm not too bothered, either way, as long as people are happy with the challenges and how they are run. I suppose if people are going to vote for their own reasons, it makes sense that people's designs should also be for their own reasons. I do feel very privelidged that people have chosen to vote for me in past challenges, but I do this for me first and everyone else second, sorry if that's a bit selfish.

I guess the fact that I have never been a conformist, always liked to be different and wanted to challange the ideas and ideals of others is evident in my designs, which I can only think is a good thing, at least it means I'm putting part of myself into the car, which should at least help with the creativity side of things.

Just for good measure, here's an update. The only real change is the mesh bit in the middle of the front bumper, but I'm not sure if I like it. The shape doesn't seem cohesive with the rest of the design and it makes that front area look a little too busy. I think the car can handle a busy look with the route I'm taking, so maybe it's just the shape. I originally drew it as just a rectangle with rounded ends, but didn't think it suited the aggresive styling of the mod, hence the new shape, but I think it probably still needs to be more angular or just scrapped.
