Clearly is not the airbag causing it.Any ideas?
OK, so there is no crank. Here is the video. Thanks for the help KoalarNo start
Cranks but will not run
Or
No crank
Make a small video of the right dial as you insert the key, wait a second or 2 and try and crank
Well I turn the ignition on and nothing. I will rescan but I will start with fuses and earth's and then have a look at the Starter motor.Clearly is not the airbag causing it.
What's happening exactly?!
Thanks Mike. I removed the relay form the engine compartment fuse box and put a 12v battery across terminals 85 and 86 and heard a click so was happy that's working. Next is the Starter voltage but running low on time here today, so will have to go at this next.Yes, do look at the starter motor. I can't tell for sure, being a video I'm watching (and maybe I'm missing it), but by the sound of it the starter motor relay ain't clicking. So do start your check there, see if there is 12 V on both lines and all.
Thanks koalarI don't see the oil can or battery coming on and staying on
Usually indicates a faulty block ground

Hi koaler success someone had insulated the small thread that fits inside the battery tray with tape presumably to stop it rusting I took the tape off so I could get the bolt off then the gauge instantly went to 3/4 so thanks for your helpwww.fiatforum.com

Start with the tests above
Or a visual check under the battery tray

Thought I post on here as the information on sealing rings is hard to come by Oil filters 1.2 There's two types notice the engine number of the swap over The early ones are longer, A it the diameter H is the length C is the outer diameter of the sealing ring Also notice the bypass...www.fiatforum.com
Leave the fuses for now, it's possible to introduce a new fault, let's deal with what we can see
Power and grounds will also effect the airbag but I am ignoring this for now as its more than likely be part of the same issue
This is the oil can that should comes on and stays on untill it's been cranking

There's only one wire going to it, and it uses block ground
It's highly likely block ground is your only problem
I think you mean is NOT staying on display...the oil can is staying on the display so next is the block ground and starter voltage.
Was just in the car with ignition on and red oil can was on...I think you mean is NOT staying on display...
I couldn't locate the earth strap under the battery tray, mine seems to have a different layout.i put a jump lead from the negative to the block and the car tried to start, what do you think of this??Then cranking it a few times, I know it's not turning over
Does the oil and battery go out
If it does
This cable under the battery tray is likely
