Firstly the COST comparison was between 1.2 Stilo and JTD, performance has FCUK all to do with it! Cost comparison, read it again, cost comparison! Not performance comparision... C...O...S...T...
Then my mpg drops to 30, err, i know what i get from a tank of fuel, the tank average from the Trip is spot on, i've calculated it myself and confirm it. Are you going to say now that the trip computer is more accurate on the JTD that any other model, clearly a component which is shared between every model, Abarth excluded!
75k the petrol is over the hill, nope, i did 160,000 in a 1.3 petrol and it was still running like a dream! It was the bodywork that scapped the car.
The diesel costs a hell of a lot more than the petrol, i'd bl00dy expect it to be worth more come resale, but this doesn't mean you've saved any money. So you pay £3k more minimum for your JTD, if its not worth £3k more come resale then you've saved NOTHING!
I did 600 miles in one weekend (when the car was new and not fully run in), mainly motorway, 4 passengers, full boot, 49.5 mpg average! One tank! Yep clearly fuel economy was utterly ****e! never dropped below 70mph, often doing 80mph.
I was under the impression that all Stilo models had a 12,000 mile service interval. Diesel's cost more to service. Oh and need the fuel filter emptied every 6000 miles in accordance with the service guide.
The diesel will need to go for 200,000 miles plus in your own ownership before you ACTUALLY save any money.
Insurance i DO believe you'll find is grp 4 for the 1.2 all other models are 5 or above.
Jesus, this is getting so boring. Maybe you should read some books, magazines, do some web research yourself. How about maybe even just checking your owners manual! I'm sure Stu has scanned enough copies of pages for this site that even if you don't want to read your manual you can read it on the webpage!
Rather than slagging others who unlike your good self, don't just make up your own Stats.... the self same stats that contribute to 99% of stats being useless!
The reputation points system for this site clearly doesn't work, or when folk put an evenings worth of work together for it to be constant blasted by folk who just pluck reasons for it not being correct out of thin air, with no evidence/research of their own.
How about this for a nice change, actually stop next time your about to type a reply, and read the entire post first!
