Soo an update

Today il be cracking on putting the hoses on and mounting the header tank again can keep it on original bracket

Scotch the entire car

Maybe mount the pedal or fabricate bracket

Im not tackling wiring yet as ive ordered some goodies off ebay

Soldering iron kit (mines a bit dated , comes with a handy stand to solder wires together )
Adhesive heatshrink( do it once do it properly lol)
A new radiator (old one was finished!)
And a fibreglass kit (for smoothing bonnnet and boot)

Hope fully after the wiring is done itl be ready for the big switch on!
No doubt il encounter another problem but hey ho

Right all my parts arrived

however whilst fitting my radiator i got stuck

the pipe that goes through the throttle body to the return on the expansion bottle on the 1108cc

there is no connector to do this , because on the punto the expansion bottle was connected to the radiator om ONLY stuck with that hose that comes from the TOP of the heater matrix and goes through throttle to expansion tannk

PLEASE HELP!!

I don't understand. The radiator has a slim connector? The heater hose has one too? The expansion tank has one too? Or which one is missing?

You can either:

- connect the heater one with the expansion tank one and put a a bleeder on the radiator one

- connect the radiator with the expansion tank and put a bleeder on the heater one (or blank it, should also work).

Right im just gonna T the hose so one goes into the back of the head and one returns to expansion bottle cheers for the help guys

Also I think ive got the newer radiator as my water temp sensor has the smaller thread and this on is the larger one , do I even need it? As I think the punto engine the sensor is elsewhere

Smoothed the bonnet and boot today looks rather good
Goes to show even the smallest of mods can make a big difference

I was upset when I decided to roller a spare panel I found in the garage and let it dry and it dried glossy even though I ordered matte sheen!

Wasnt a bad finish from a roller a slight orange peel but if you flatted it mopped it and polished it definitely would come out as good as a spray gun! So anyone wanting to attempt it I wouldnt hesitate!

Just waiting on the new temp sensor my t piece and paint in the post once the water is in the radiator and all hoses etc are connected I will start the wiring I have a vehicle electrician and he will be giving me some guidance he said its not a big job its just a case of the ignition switch ,starter , fuel pump
And obviosly in my case the pedal as all the sensors and plugs are conected to the ecu and ecu is mounted on the engine it makes it a bit easier , more updates to follow on wednesday and im glad the weather is finally warming up happy easter guys!

soo a few updates

ordered a seicento spoiler as they apparently the can fit with slight modification

started work on rolling and flaring the arches

undone the shock and removed spring jacked it up put a scaffolding bar inbetween and roll the car forwards and it brings the lip out perfectly
skimmed with filler ready for paint

tested the paint on the bonnet and looks rather good

smooth bonnet and boot completed

heres a picture of how shes sitting and the arch of course :slayer:

Awesome! As the ebay ones are £80 posted! Which I thought was a tad pricey for a spoiler

Done a coat of grey with the roller yesterday will obv need flatting back and another few coats applied if it doesnt come out well il get the spray gun out gonna get a set of lowering shocks and springs from ebay afterwards
As my rear shocks are caput you can compress it with no force whatsoever!

Finishing off the arches today and sorting out other bad bodywork repairs dents chips etc

Then just a water temp sensor and a t piece then I can wire it up and we are away!
Banded steels are for afterwards does anyone know anywhere in the Berkshire area that does them?

Sooo a big update!

Got the loom in the car all routed body computer behind centre console and engine bay fuse box on the right hand side near the strut , got all my diagrams and all ecu pinout (Autodata) got it turning over just a few more things all really niggly things

On the body work side of things I resorted to the spraygun as trying to do edges with a roller didnt go well so masked it up and mixed the paint and away I went (with help of a mate on masking up and pre paint duty lol)

Added the spoiler on (tigerseal) and flushed the edges into the boot

And done two coats of grey

And touched up some minor dents that I couldnt see (more visable when its flat paint)

I think it looks rather good :)

What you guys think?....

Is the matt grey the primer? I'm unsure...........

But it looks a very workmanlike job. (In a good way ;))

I found out that apparently the Senna edition Ducatis were Matt Black which often looks good even on mere cars. If they pay the appropriate fee to the Senna Foundation they can even put SS on them.......
