This is just grey primer as id rather use this which is alot thicker to cover the yellow up then spray the darker top coat (battleship grey) which will be thinner so less coats looks good with the red seat belts too aha

Soo not a lot of progress has been made

tidied up the wiring in the engine bay and got the starting circuit going

was removing the fuel pump to swap over the motors was putting the fuel line on and.....snap! the outlet came off! luckily there was enough plastic for the hose to be secured again :worship:

bought a few bits and bobs

gaskets , sensors , gear oil , plugs etc

smoothed out the bump strips on the front bumper and now after a rear bumper as mine had it!

im after some bumper brackets but from what ive searched is that you cant buy them new!

you have to make your own!

at the moment the car is stripped all windows , seals , trim

so it can be painted again with the top coat

however the weather where i am is naff and cant make its mind up lol

wiring is all sorted have all the wires traced just need joining up

i have a quiery though on my inlet i have a fuel type outlet on the left hand side of the inlet can this be joined onto the cinquecento return fuel line?

i just need the pipe connector as i forgot to grab it from the donor car which is now a coke can lol

cant wait for the big turn on!

Just started to read this, ive got a 1.2 16v mk2 punto powered cinq.

I used the complete mk2 punto loom with both ecu's and mounted it all into the cinq.;)
I mounted the fly by wire throttle pedal onto the bulkhead of the cinq.
All ive done is connect the Punto lights wiring and mated it to the Cinq lights wiring.
Mines a 6 speed though.

Im running a Facet fuel pump with a pressure regulator.

Ive been mucking with the bodywork, so although mines wired and ready, the cars not finished. (y)

Good luck with this.

CENTOpainter how did you go about fixing the pedal it sits too far back in comparison to the other pedal
soon everyone will be doing it this way (harder way) as mk1 16v bits are drying up

Hmm may have a gander on your advert Lee

Heres one of the rolled arches (used the guide on the forum) I am happy with the results :)

Here it comes.....I told you so!

This wiring is driving me insane so have gone and bought the mk1 inlet , throttle body , loom ecu key etc can all the older stuff bolt onto the block? Inlet? Then all I have to do is splice at the d4 instead of running a massive koom through the car! Plus its a bit less restricive does that mcrich guy still do that chip that de immobilise and adds powarrrr

The best way :). Yeah the inlet side will go on!

With the ECU reddy4bed recently removed my Immob for me and it worked perfect!

Il only be doing minor mods exhaust and filter etc i did want a bigger throttle body or better cams but dont have alot of info on them

can another bigger fiat one fit or non fiat?
what are the choice of cams?

i suspect it should be a vast improvement compared to a 1.1 8v and that was fairly nippy!

just really wanna focus on handling and braking as no road is straight and plan on doing some track days

mate has a saxo vts running a turbo 400bhp took it to trax blitzed everything on the straight but understeered on every corner and by that time everyone overtook him ,no point having 1000bhp and it cant go round corners lol

plus the cinq does suffer with a bit of body roll might go down the rear arb route......

i plan on doing the 1.2 16v first then if the cinq survives a 1.4 or tjet will go in ;) i wanna get 100bhp at the least

i did get laughed at when i started the project.....by my friends that are a few years older and have redtops etc

"so your putting a 1.2 in when it was a 1.1":confused:

i know it wont be a redtop killer but then again the engine itself is quite heavy
and would certainly suffer from understeer

just had a search on the maera/bravo 1.6 16v throttle body

is it worth sticking the bigger one on it as im buying the mk1 1.2 tb should i just upgrade at the same time? i assume it bolts on however aparently the inlet port needs porting which im confident in doing (mate has machine shop)??

I don't think so. The guy that took over also disappeared. But that does not matter, these were 1.1 SPI chips, you are going for IAW 18FD ECU, don't you?

I would stick to the bravo 1.2 TB.

Yeah, the MPI ones need what is called a "live remap", (done on a rolling road) and you should get one done if fitting a Marea TB.

The MPI ECUs are more sophisticated than the SPI ones -- you're probably looking at a 10% power increase with a remap on an engine with stock innards.

Having said that, my T5, otherwise known as the Great Petrol Guzzling Monster, can be chipped. Must put it on a RR to see if it really makes the 340bhp the chip man says -- if it does, I'll treat it to some forged rods (absurdly cheap for the T5).

Am suring the bigger tb on the 1.2 16v. I think it does help, but i don't have any graphs to prove anything.

But moving to the 1.4 16v shortly. So it worth it for the future if you have further plans!!

Well I may as well go for it then when it hits the road il get it mapped obviously doing all the other mods before to benefit it more might have to ring up the local RR place (prestige performance or torque of the devil) put it will run...right? Just so I can get it there? Wanna get an exhaust , air filter , leads , I dunno what cam options I have as they are expensive bits of kit haha cheers for the views guys
