Just wondered what kind of MPG owners are getting fromt heir 100HP?

My car has just done 10,500miles, I reset the trip nearly every fill but seem to be impressed with how eco the car can be.

The dealer said, expect 35mpg....... but i seem to get always around 48mpg, the highest i ave seen was 54mpg!

I do not have motorways here in East of england, so most driving is done on slow A & B roads.

On a recently nippy journey to manchester the total trip got me 42mpg, which i was amazed with as the car didnt go below 75mph! and i got lost in manchester city centre.

How do you guys and girls do?

My average since owning the car (about 6800 miles) is 35.5mpg measured at the pump but as the engine has loosened up, I'm now seeing 38-40mpg easily. I avoid motorways if possible so the vast majority of my driving is done on fast twisty A and B roads with a bit of town driving thrown in for good measure.

Highest I've seen on a steady run was 48mpg but I soon undid that when the traffic cleared ;)

My overall average consumption over around 5,000miles is 38.7mpg which i don't think is that bad.

After each fill up i reset the 'trip-B' computer and have seen it in the high 40's over longer runs.

Overall i'm impressed with the economy of the car as it seems to be better than my previous car (Corsa SXI 1.2).

Somewhere between 42 - 44 usually.

On a motorway run I sometimes get 46 - 47 which is quite good I think.

Just looked at mine and it say's 37.1 (mainly urban driving too) oh and thats with the 'lost' sport button on all the time :)

I get 46mpg combined out my Punto mk2b Sporting which as same engine but without the car being shapped like a matchbox :nerner:. Goes to show aerodynamics make a difference :D

Interestingly the book figures for the Punto are less  The Panda also weighs more, but is quicker to 60. I wonder if they use the same gearboxes or if the Punto one has taller gears...

Mine's still only done 1,500 miles, but I'm getting about 32mpg around town and anywhere from 37 - 42mpg on a run. As with DavePanda100, that's with the Sport button on the whole time.

Book figures don't mean jack. Its the same engine and same gearbox. Look on eper. The '100hp' is a marketing ploy by fiat its actually just rounded up from 96-98 it actually produces on average.

Funny, I get 38.7 average too. Improved from 35-36 over 4,500 miles. Hit 50mpg on a gentle A road run, 40+ in normal driving, 38.7 for all the local work the car is used for.

Assuming that Fiat measure them in the same way, ie under controlled lab conditions, then they are more consistent than someone just posting their mpg figure. I could get 50mpg if I crawled around everywhere or I could get single figure mpg if I tracked the car.

So if the Panda is heavier and less aerodynamic than the Punto but all else is equal, how does it achieve better figures under laboratory conditions?

Interesting results, I'm sure we all drive the car differently. I have to hold my hand up and say alot of the A/B road driving is done 'without' the Sport button being used....... just as the roads round here are crap and there at not many places to use the throttle without a tractor pulling out.

On the dual roads, or out of the area and the rare visit on a motorway defo use the sport button. The difference in the ecu map is really good, the throttle seems to be very perky :)

Mine read 52mpg the other day driving like an OAP on the scenic route from my girlfriend's. Got a good choice because I can use the motorway aswell which is what I normally do, especially when I'm in economy mode. I was pleasantly surprised because I haven't seen that kind of return on the motorway yet. Must..try..harder lol

I've noticed since I went over 10000 miles, mine has gone up a bit and I usually get 42-45mpg according to the B trip computer (assume in reality it's a bit lower?). For the type of car, i'm more than happy with that.(y)

Mine's done 10,800 miles....

My daily drive involves 1 mile to the Motorway, 18 miles on the Motorway and 2 miles from Motorway through town to work.

Drive home is usually 2 miles back to Motorway, 8 miles on Motorway, 10 miles on fast A/B road....Or all on fast A/B roads

Usually go somewhere at the weekend in it, but with OH on board (ie slower drive!)

I used to get around 32-33mpg per tank but since the fuel went up I have been driving a bit more 'sensibly' (sticking to 70 on motorway) and now get around 41mpg per tank (also trying out not using SPORT mode on this tankful to see what difference it makes....)

Still enjoy a blast along the A-road a couple of times a week....:slayer:
