One touch only on the drives window is a standard feature feature on many modern cars, I guess it's for safety reasons, no doubt car that don't crush fingers will be on all windows

The body computer node M001:

  • receives the signal from pin 14 connector H for raising the driver's window;
  • receives the signal from pin 24 connector H for lowering the driver's window;
  • receives the signal from pin 15 connector H for raising the passenger window;
  • receives the signal from pin 25 connector H for lowering the passenger window;
Having received the commands, the body computer node supplies the electric motors for raising/lowering the window.

To raise the window, the body computer node supplies the electric motors N060 and N061 from pins 3 (driver's side) and 4 (passenger side), connector M.

To lower the window, the body computer node supplies the electric motors N060 and N061 from pins 2 (driver's side) and 5 (passenger side), connector M.

It's all controlled via the body computer

As far as I know none of the special editions had rear electric windows

@portland_bill I guess your still had manual rears ?

The only option I believe is to fabrication a purely electrical system for the rears from scratch

Manual free online direct from fiat

What possible reason would this be a Safety reason for! Seems like Woke brigade to me.

The other thing the windows only open half way on the manual regulators. My thought at the moment is use the fronts on self made runners etc..
Or does the Fiat 500 have a 5 Door!? Maybe something from the Ka or Picanto might jam in?

Is the mechanical system going to fit in the door readily? Is there room for a regulator?

A hole could be cut i suppose.
It will have to be Bespoke. I may even make my own PCB with Relays on and an Arduiono UNO to be the control interface! Along the lines of one touch on any window. Another Pin could be used for Full self closure etc..

Merc Sprinter vans have one touch windows on both sides**. I have no idea why it's not normal on all vehicles as the same control components could be used on everything. They use the motor current to detect when it's fully closed, fully open or restricted in some way.

They also have wiper actions that are suspiciously similar to the Panda Flick wipe has the same ultra touchy switch that almost always gives two wipes when you only wanted one.

Most windows only need to cranked an inch or two for fresh air

Handy for the drivers to go fully down for parking ticket barriers, drive throughs

Children and animals tend to stick there heads or arms out

So it seem sensible to me, to only one touch the drivers, pretty sure if you put a carrot at the top as it's closing it would slice it in half

Im going down the lines of making an 8 channel relay set up controlled by an Arduino UNO. One touch all round with switch debouncing so there are no false triggers. also a full closure pin which can be triggered by the alarm or central locking interface. I can blank the rear window winder holes with Tweeters. I did this on my VWT4 already! I was looking at the fiat fiorini inner door cards with the switches on them.

Yep, one-touch only on driver's window, hold for the passenger window, manual at the rear. I'm not aware of any Panda with electric rears. Rarely open mine anyway, let the aircon do its thing.
My 2017 Doblo had one-touch on both fronts.

Partly safety, mostly cost. One-touch needs the load sensing, to avoid trapping things, which costs. Fiat are especially wary of this. Many years ago, a small child leant on the window switch of a Fiat Regata (Saloon version of original Tipo), while its head was out the window. Window lifted, lifted child by the neck, and strangled it. Parents and press blamed Fiat. Fiat removed one-touch from all vehicles for many years.
The windows would only work with the ignition on, but nobody questioned why a 2-3 yr-old had been left in a car with the ignition key. Blame the manufacturer, not the parents.
My 2015 Fabia has to be held on both front windows, no one-touch unless paying for the top trim spec.

Shape of the door is key. The window will only go as far as the wheelarch.

Why wasn't the child strapped in it's seat for one! One touch is defo the way to go! As your not spending your time looking down at the gearstick to hold the switch whilst driving. Ill be putting full control in the drivers door with custom made switch pod.

That probably explains why it opens halfway. Ive nearly finished the rear and will be moving on to the center section of the car next. Still got to make my DIY axle stands! To get Fifi up in the air at least 500mm. So i can sort the exhaust out.

I would like the Abarth 500 twin rear exhaust with silencer delete pipe. But until i get the 1.4 T-jet engine in i fear it will be to loud.

The recall for tipo/tempra went out to all BUT, although we did a few, not all those that came in to the dealership opted not to have it

So got my first window regulator converted to Electric NSR. As im happy with it ive ordered another to convert on the OSR window. :)

Switches on the way and a bit of a loom to make up.

Im using Renault MODUS control switch and toying with Mercedez A class switches for the rest. As this is totally Bespoke. It really is make it up as i go. :censored:

Oh Going to move the Mirror switch so it's in the drivers door.

Piccy's coming soon.

Hey i still use a polaroid camera :unsure:
Arent these antique pieces for museums only? :)
