Punto (Mk1) Molly II - Punto GT3.

Introduction

Well sure many of you know this car or at least saw it for sale.

Purchased from Alex22 at the weekend to add to my collection. She is standard bar aftermarket discs & pads and a baileys dump valve. Even has an original GT exhaust, think its the first one i ever seen lol.

Whats my plans I hear you ask?
1. Fit correct widemouth front bumper (supplied by Alex with the car)
2. Have wheels refurbed, they look ok but quite a bit of kerbing on the rims
3. Fit some spacers, love the standard wheels but they far to far under the arches
4. Clean and tidy up the engine bay
5. Exterior respray in the original colour, paint is good and there is hardly any dents/dinks but the bonnet and roof in particular look a bit tired.
6. Brand new badges, front and rear

Here is some pictures, all off my phone so not great - I will add more pictures to the thread when i have better ones ;)

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

Yes true, end of the day though i'm just bored of being super paranoid now. Its the only place i have ever lived where if you forgot to lock something then you can expect it to be gone when you get back. Don't get me wrong, your advice is sound and thanks for it.. (y) Its not that this has got me down that much as such, more i've just had enough - like you and South London (although i'm not really comparing York to South London lol).

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

First 3 weeks I had my GP, It got a nice big scratch down the drivers side front wing from a stiletto heel and a fist sized dent on the rear passenger door frame.
Fortunately, I found the culprit of the scratch on facebook with thier profile picture of her leg on my wing mirror  She was made to pay for the repair and a full valet. But her and her dad got quite hostile about the dent when I questioned them. And because of where it is, little girl fists couldnt have done it without being seriously damaged. Still to get this resolved :bang:

I think no matter where you go, theres gonna be crime.
My best advice:

- Cheap metal/wood gate
- Anti-vandle paint
- big paint brush
- cheap camera with external flash
- IR motion detector linked to the camera.
- Big dog

;)

Cheers
Tom

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

or a huge hawk knowing you lol..
Big dog is a no, i would love one but my cats might think differently. I love em too much to get a big dog.. But a Russian Shepherd would be cool!

Tbh i'm thinking of opening up the front more, maybe take down one of the hedges. As is you can stroll onto my drive and be quite secluded and out of the lights. Would also make it easier to swap cars

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

Get a couple of flood lights with IR sensors. It works for us with gaurding our back yard from strolling polish people using our yard as a shortcut to town. Well... that and my dad throwing a deoderant can at one when he tried to go into our garage haha

Cheers

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

all the space has cars in it, i couldn't have a big dog anyway.. My mrs worked at a kennels that did dog training including protection dogs - i could very easily get a very well trained guard dog that is very big and very scary - cats and not space though means i cannot.

I will get some security lights though i think - perhaps a camera as well. Perhaps Father Christmas will bring me one.

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

Apart form the first meeting I would be more worried about the cats ripping the dog apart. And a dog in the house is no use with the car outside. Cameras and lights are the best bet.

well nothing to report really but here's a cheeky pic

and here's a pic of the damage to the door..

hi
beg borrow or buy one of these
take your door lock out
build up the tool so it clamps where the damage is
tighten up but dont allow the tool to slip round
remove the tool
replace lock
touch the tiny part of the broken paint in with a matchstick and some paint in the colour of your car
keep touching in till paint built up and finish off with a dab of lacquer

you wont see the damage after a few weeks
at one time you could buy door lock surround stickers you put these on rather than trying to get the body paint to match

as said get a light up outside they are quite cheap and you only need 150watts
i see you have a light/

Re: Molly II - Punto GT3

Aye i have 2 lights up now, one at either end of the drive so all cars are lit up if anyone goes on the drive..

I'm gonna get the door locks smoothed over i think - considering respray in sprint blue atm.

No!!! Keep that blue! haha, or keep the same shade and get a respray with alot more fleck ;)
