can't be arsed!
I wrote a witty retort to that Gimp clive about his cheap Fiat snipes, but I have deleted it and instead am writing this. I have no time for small minds, and anyway, this "beef" has obviously been laid to rest, so Why bother ;)

Yeah i think one of the pics they were asked to remove was one they took of my car showing my full number and one of my kids sat behind the car (i think someone posted it in another thread) i posted about it on here and when i tried to register to ask them to alter it or take it down i found out i was banned :( I know quite a few people on here who pm'd a few of their mods on my behalf but nothing was done :(
Also me and Claire sent emails to watchdog asking them to look into it but i didnt hear anything back i dont know if claire did :(

Richard, looking into it :) The "Copyright And Related Rights Regulations 2003 SI No: 2498" does exist but it's on the same.

sorry lol, doesn't appear like i had finished that!

I meant "on the same document as the copyright laws" by that I meant it's additional to it. It also requires the fair use of the works, which I believe means the owner has to be asked where possible. I also believe "fair use" isn't sticking it on a forum for people to take the **** out of it and the owner, although a lawyer could deifne that better!

Hmm I'd love to see someone take it further (even taking it up with the ISP) and see what happens.

Nothing would happen, the ISP would give them a time period to take it down, and that would be that, they'd never check if it had gone. IMO.

No I just meant I wanted to hear what the barries had to say and now the thread's gone (quite rightly) and the barryboys one has gone too.

In fact they've changed something, you never had to register to view posts before, and the thread about us links back to the index page??

Yes you did. You'll find that about half the forum you have to be registered to see. A little paranoid aren't we?

Anyway - you have NO argument with the copyright issue. We have loads of people come there an threaten to sue us for using their pics, but they don't know the law, and the mods on Barryboys do.

You guys really have done a great job of taking this the wrong way...

I'm not going to pretend to know the full ins and outs, but just because a photo is on the internet DOES NOT make it part of the public domain, in the same way that just becuase its in a magazine doesn't mean you can make copies of it.

Otherwise you could just download all the photos off a site such as playboy.com and run the site as your own....? Unless a photographer specifically allows a photo for public domain, then no it isn't....

Using the review argument only works if YOU took the photo....

Paul, I know you said we only take the **** of the occasional car whereas their site is dedicated to doing it, but even if we had only ever done it once that would still make any person that had posted sarcastic comments on that thread and then made similar comments about Barryboys hippocrits. I have made comments on a couple of those threads, fortunately I haven't commented about Barryboys, but I'm sure there are some that have done both.

As far as copyright is concerned, yes you need to seek approval of the owner of the photo. That is not necessarily the person who put it on the internet, it is the person who took the original photo, unless of course they have sold they copyrights or they took the picture on behalf of a company or establishment who own the copyright.

If an effort has been made to contact the owner of the copyright and there has been no response, you can get away with posting the picture, if you have evidence that contact has been made. That does not make it legal, but you would get away with it. If the owner then asks for removal of the material, it is regarded as response to the initial contact and must be abided by.

Personally I never said I was in the know about the copyright issue because I'm not but I would like to know the truth since both sides seem adamant they're right.

About registration to that forum, since I wrote that quote I realised you moved the thread to a different section (fight) which you have to register for from the first section, which you don't. That's why the confusion, not paranoia. I then posted (on this thread I think) where the thread is now located.

just tried the link but needed to register- and now have to wait.

ok from what DP has said, its not on for members to go and be abusive on another site, we dont like this forum being attacked in anyway and FFmembers should not sink to anyone elses level, this is just going to go on and on.its not fair on either forums and its gotta stop!!!!!!!

Just so you know Europe put forward his argument in a sensible and non-rude (mainly) way. He has also drawn a line under his postings at BB and is at peace with Clive :)

He's also been referred to both by full name and by "Nikko's father" in the new thread and further mocked by Clive.

Excellent, our rapport has come to an end already, how sad, we were getting along nicely. Sadly I don't want to trawl through pages of that crap to find the references nor will I respond, i made that clear. Nikko's father is a funny one.

Who is Europe anyway?
