You can make a tazer out of a 12v Cold cathode (neon) power supply....
didnt make it intentionally but "found" you should always disconect the power supply before dismantling a neon control box :doh:
just fit a small DIY cctv camera or one of those drive way alarms across your gate hole which sets off a sounder in the house. so you can go and greet your visitors warmly
