Les Paul, the man who, arguably, invented the solid body electric guitar died today aged 94.

The Gibson Les Paul, along with the Fender Stratocaster had become the most recognisable electric guitar in the world. The list of players who've used the Les Paul is almost endless, but includes, Jimmy Page, Slash, The Edge, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Peter Frampton and Marc Bolan.

Right up until the end, Les played one night per week in a club in Manhattan.
Good bye Les and Rest in Peace.

Im glad someone saw it fit to post a thread up. When I posted RIP Les Paul as my FB status, most of the replies I got were "Who?"

Unfortunately Les also pioneered many of the studio tehniques used today, so
inadvertently brought about a reduction in the use of his own invention. I can't remember which CD it was now, but when I looked at the credits for a certain track there were more Producers and Assistant Producers than there were musicians.
