Hugo Chávez RIP

Used the oil wealth to help the majority, not the few. Won 4 elections. Jimmy Carter who was with a team to over see the elections said, " if only every country had fair and honest elections, like Venezuela.

Please stop being an ignorant fool, please.

Get an education and then start saying how great he is, not the other way round.....

His political legacy is decidedly murky. While chavistas are quick to praise the regime's accomplishments—free education, free health care, reduced poverty, massive food and agricultural subsidies, a 93 percent literacy rate—the reality of day-to-day life in Venezuela tells a more troubling story. Caracas claims one of the world's highest murder rates and a steady drumbeat of kidnapping, carjacking, and home invasion. One of its most notorious landmarks, the unfinished 45-story Tower of David, is now home to 2,500 squatters, a monument to the bungled economy.

And then there's oil. Venezuela boasts the world's largest petroleum reserves, which enabled Chávez to launch one massive social program after another, few properly managed and nearly all kept afloat on petrodollars and the Comandante's sheer force of will.

You really are amazingly ignorant, it is easy to fall in love with someone who just gives money out to the poor, but the only reason Chavez was able to do that is because Venezuela has the worlds largest reserves of oil. A country with such reserves shouldn't be struggling with inflation

Or Poverty.....

The guy was a populist who bought the votes and affection of the poor with money that he pumped out of the ground. Funny how other countries with vast reserves of oil have enough to start investing elsewhere and securing their futures for when the oil runs out, and Venezuela can barely take care of itself.

Here's why, Chavez was a corrupt r sole of a man.

Meanwhile, a U.K. nongovernment organization, Tax Justice Network, reported that about $400 billion in Venezuelan capital has fled to offshore banks.

you literally have NO clue.
