Just been offered a ipod lead from a Fiat 500.

It is a retractable lead is this the dongle that works with the latest update to Blue and me to opperate my ipod correctly and will it work with my new bravo in september.

Got my adapter on Monday this week - finally got around to putting it in the car with the 5.4 update Thursday. All went very smoothly and now my iphone works (albeit on a lead) with my 500.

Thanks for sorting out the adapter Chris and thanks for setting up the list Alex.

I've set up the adapter, updated the firmware and the iPhone now plays through my 500's sound system. However, is there supposed to be a way of playing by album or playlist? Currently the only choices I can find are random or play tracks alphabetically, neither of which suit the way I like to listen to music....

You can either look at the artists through the car by pressing the windows button and saying 'artists' then using up, down and ok to select one. Or just start listening to a band on your ipod, pause it, plug it in and turn the car on, it should carry on from where it left off.

Hi,
No problem with iPhone OS3 and bluetooth at this time.
I've bought the adapter from Fiat in France and all seems good.
Only thing is that you have to update Blue&Me with Windows for Automotive 5.4 available at fiat.it.

Can anyone confirm this works with the iphone OS 3 ? im just about to upgrade - I dont want to if this doesnt work and it cripples the bluetooth again!!!

Yes it does - I think my iPhone was at v3 before I collected the car.

Thanks for the tip. I also discovered that 'albums' is also a valid voice command and this makes more sense for the sort of music I have (mainly classical with some New Age as well).

(Nearly there now)

The adaptor works with all generations of iPods and Iphones. Doesn't work with other non-Apple mp4 players.

Hi Guys,

I have had a customer (from here) asking if this will solve the problem of the I-phone not reading texts through B&M. I'm sure I have read that it wont but could one of you experts confirm this for me? And offer him a reason why if you know!

Thanks chaps

Chris ill pick that one up, but im sure others will too :)

The way B&M picks up texts from your phone requires a specific Bluetooth protocol to be enabled. Apple dont support this protocol as yet but theres rumours that in a future release FIAT may deal with this.
