Technical  How to fix central locking

its like the blind leading the blind on here sometimes:eek:

open passenger door lift up grey multiplug adjuster in door shut so it disconnects
new fuse in
shut drivers door and lock it
see simples ,it was faulty actuator in drivers door because its opened again
:D
now which door gets used most.............goes off to earn some p[ennies and ponders on this great quest..

On the off chance that this is your lucky day and before you start ripping out wires check that the door lock mechanism isn't just stiff. Actuators have no patience and will give up quickly if there is much resistance and bounce all the locks open.

Just got round to testing this now, took the passenger door multiplug off and the drivers door stayed shut as it should, also the interior light and dash light behaved as they should and went out, so this confirms it is the passenger door at fault like I suspected..does this mean I need a new door actuator for the passenger side?

Thanks

does the door close properly..lines up.?

ive seen afew of these puntos with iffy doors, idiots slam doors and feck them up as'pose,

Nope it doesn't line up well, you have to move the catch manually for the door to close, the door also drops when you open it as some idiot has replaced the pin on the check strap with a flimsy pin!

Right now I've took the door card off and I'm looking into the door, what do I need to do?

Thanks

Best to sort that first .

I'm gonna buy a new check strap and have a new pin and bolt in the next few days, that's what's causing the drop in the door..as for it not closing properly hopefully that gets sorted too..but while I've got the card and that off I want to try and sort this actuator out..is there anyway I can remove it and examine it?

Thanks

You should be able to fool the door to thinking its locked. Just click the door catch with a screwdriver until it clicks twice (with door open) then try the central locking. Just remember to unlock again with inside door handle before you shut the door properly or you will break it. If its not lining up this may have already happened.
