Hi, my central locking does not work, I have to go to both doors and open individually with the key, and also lock each door individually..this is very annoying.

So I was wondering if you guys could suggest what I could try to fix this issue?

My remote central locking also does not work, but I'll focus on this issue first..

Thanks.

its probably got a faulty door actuator so to assist in a quick sale the vendor possibly removed the fuse in the internal fusebox or just simply slotted a blown one in for substitution
this would be where i would start

blipper wont work if key dont

First place I'll check then, do you happen to know which fuse number this is?

Key turns and opens doors but actual button on key doesn't light up even with new battery so I'm at a loss..

Thanks.

ok, update on this..I have just got the key working, I messed around with the contacts and new battery and eventually the light now flashes and it attempts to lock the car but even when i press it the car locks wouldn't budge..so as suggested i checked the fuse which was F38 and there was no fuse in it (well done s and b ;), so I looked up the correct amp of fuse in haynes and i replaced this fuse and I thought a job well done...until when i turn the key now both doors do respond but they immediately unlock themselves, this is the same with the remoter central locking..they just keep unlocking themselves..so now i see why they pulled the fuse in the 1st place (n)

anybody have any idea what is causing the doors to unlock themselves?

Thanks

it sounds like its sensing door is open
so wont lock,

might need anew actuator which one tho?
or broken /chaffed wire in door loom
or summat amiss on locking side, you need to check everything out,

ihad problem with mine but door open light was staying on,

battery lead off for 15mins sorted that,

that was my initial thought, I will try disconnecting negative terminal for 15mins, start from there..otherwise I will inspect door to see if any wires are damaged,

how would I know if the door actuator was faulty?

Thanks.

(how would I know if the door actuator was faulty?)

Unplug one actuator at a time and see if other door locks/stays locked,

Q:when you lock doors manualy does the interior light go out..sort of fade out slowly then go off ?

Ok so the actuator is situated within the door, so it's a door card off job?

Before I put the fuse in and when the doors actually locked manually, the light would have to be in the off position as the light would stay on, suggesting an open door,

Thanks

if the interior light dont go out, it shouid sort of fade out..slowly,

then its sensing a door open,
dash light shouid stay on too, bulb missing ?

Does your boot activate the door open warning on the dash? if so - check the boot lock

But i'd disconnect one door - so it don't respond and see if the other doors then lock

if your a 5dr, you've got 1 in 5 actuator to check
If your a 3dr - its alot easier ;)

I'm not sure if it does as the door light is constantly on so I can't tell if the boot is causing it,

Ok will disconnect each door at a time and see if light goes out or other door stays locked,

Thank god its a 3 door ;)

Boot light goes off as it should, also the doors still unlock themselves while boot is open, this rules out it being the boot

The boot light is a sign that the switch is working fine there :)

So i would assume its going to be the doors instead

If you can - just disconnect the big door connector in the hinge - it should save door stripping and allows you to check the connectors and ensure the pins get some nice duck oil / wd in there to help keep them clean :)

Once disconnected - it should door open signal and allow you to see if car locks or not :)

Once you find out which door it is - you then have to strip it down to swap actuators.... which is a little fiddly, and you need a donor one
