Hello 
Do you mean the clear plastic tank with the screw on cap?
I ask because the thermostat housing is a common failure (side of engine..above gearbox)

If the car is overheating .. STOP DRIVING !
These engines do not tolerate running with low coolant
Headgasket failure could write the car off..a £1000 repair

The one fitted to the 500 is around 15cm - 6 inches below this ( awkward to photograph)
The smaller tube..facing to rear of car..
Is conventionally made of plastic and can fracture with age and use
Hence this All.metal replacement
