in dubai many traffic accidents are caused by arab women wearing hijabs and large black sunglasses at night driving 4x4s with blacked out windows. it really was rare to see an accident that didn't involve a woman matching that description. even taxis were less likely to crash.
the govt made a statement (in the local paper in 96/97) that said it was acceptable because arab women needed to be kept out of sight of men to prevent distraction. religion really does hold us back.
